Been to Chicago many times. It's a favorite of me and the Mrs.

Sounds like you've got a pretty good plan already so I'll just post some of our favorites. River North and Wrigleyville are3 our favorite stomping grounds.

Brunch: Barrio
Pizza: Lou Malnoti's
Ramen: Ramen-San (best ramen I've ever had)
Upscale day drinks/food: Cindy's on top the Chicago Athletic Club
Upscale dinner: Girl and the Goat
Wrigley Sports Bar: Slugger's
Fun day bar: Punch Bowl Social - has great food and drinks, bowling, pool, darts, board games, etc
LSU bar for the game: The Standard
Nightclub: Prysm
Rooftop: can't go wrong most places, Whiskey Business is pretty fun but we found the food lacking.

If it is open, you should definitely check out the comedy club: Second City. It's an improve style place where a lot of big comedians got their start like Steve Carrel, Tina Fey, Jon Balushi, among others. We went to a show here before covid and had a blast.

My advice is to have a loose plan and don't be afraid to wander around. That's how we have found so many places that we like and were to drunk to remember.

I'd also follow chicago instagram accounts to discover stuff too. Like chicago bucket list and chicago food authority,

have a reservation at Cindy's as well as Girl and the Goat. Punch Bowl. That ramen spot looks interesting may check that out if we're in the area.

Would you recommend this place over Pequods? It's super convenient to our hotel.

Whiskey Business does have a rooftop, but there is no view + the crowd can get a bit rowdy. If that's what you're looking for, may as well check it out.

If I were to recommend a low-key alternative, walk a few blocks north on Milwaukee and go to The Robey. If you're there before 5:00pm, Cabana Club has nice seating arrangements on the sixth floor with city views. Once it hits 5:00pm, try grabbing a seat at The Up Room, which is on the 13th floor. Doesn't sound high up, but no building obstructions anywhere in Wicker. In my opinion, best view of downtown.
