Observations: Firefighter versus Police Officer

Both are public sector employees, and although not civil servants, they work for the same public trust.
Salary is comparable, although police officers make on average $8K more per year.
Police have a dangerous job. Firefighting can certainly be dangerous, but it does not seem to have the same dangerous unpredictability as being a cop.
Firefighters are seemingly universally well received and trusted more by the public. Conversely, there is probably not a worse time to be a police officer when it comes to public opinion and scrutiny.
When firefighters are not responding to a call, they are at the firehouse working out or cleaning the trucks: pretty laid back. Police work a beat and then go home just to do it over again.
Why would someone seeking to serve their community not easily choose firefighter?

Whens the last time a firefighter shot someone? Pretty common sense

Last time I looked at the data, police officer wasn't as dangerous of an occupation that you'd think. Firefighter is probably way higher with 9/11 factored in.

Can't shot the family dog as a fire fighter

The retards running around screaming with raised fists see no difference between the two.

Firefighters seem much cooler. Plus, they don't have that awful haircut or wear those really dorky sunglasses.

What about High Risk Funeral Escort Officers?

My observations.
Nobody ever says “oh Shiite, the firefighters are here”, then proceed to shoot, fight, spit on, or harass the firefighters.
Firefighters wait for the call instead of prowling the streets looking for business.
Firefighters get paid to eat, sleep, train and workout.
Nobody wants to defund the fire department.
Chicks dig bunker gear.
The choice between a career in the FD or LEO is a no brainer.

Firefighters and medics catch a lot of shite also from certain sectors of society. You’d be surprised how many times they have to wait for police before taking certain calls, or how many times they’ve been attacked while doing their job.

Fire tends not to shoot other fires over the smallest altercation or kill random small children whilst in the process of attacking other fires

Firefighters don’t hide around corners to extort citizens on behalf of the government.
These stops both create animosity towards police officers and make the police officers job far more dangerous. If police actually served a security role, instead of a state revenue generation role, they would sit around at the station, like firefighters, and would be perceived with less animosity.

Depends. Do you want to be a second responder, or first responder.

"Run into that burning building".
Nevermind.

Wasn’t Ronnie (RIP) who tried to fight Thoth in 2020 a firefighter?

When you see a headline about firefighters, and a dog, the firefighters have rescued the dog. When the headline is about the police, and a dog, the cops have shot the dog. I wish I was being sarcastic.
