wouldn’t it make sense to have uniformity of masks that have been verified as effective through a verified, reviewed study?

The fact that there is zero uniformity of masks and that almost none of the designs have been verified to prevent the spread is puzzling to me.

I do think tha certain masks, like N95s, probably do prevent spread. However, there is a very low percentage of those in use it appears.

Why have we not seen uniformity of mask type with the mandates?

Masks are mostly for show. Psychology is a funny thing. Give them the illusion of protection and security and most people will remain calm and carry on. Anything to prevent panic and social unrest.

Why do you care is the bigger question?

Same goes for all the other conspiracies you believe in. Waste of energy bro, what you gonna do about it anyway?

I went to drop of shirts at the cleaners yesterday and they were selling masks advertised as ‘extremely breathable’. Like I thought that’s why we had to wear masks, to trap our breath. Breathable masks kinda defeat the purpose.

FWIW - I always wear a mask in public places, BUT

the biggest slap in the face of the mask thing for me is how people say it’s a polite, courteous, unselfish act. The frick it is.

95% of our society doesn’t even say Thank You to someone opening the door for them or saying God Bless You after someone sneezes. Or he’ll, Merry Christmas. More times than not people don’t even respond to a cordial greeting in public like Good Morning, Afternoon, or Hello.

My parents raised me with manners. To be polite and courteous to others. And to go out of my way to do so to even strangers. 90% of society today could GAF.

But yet if I don’t want to wear a useless mask I’m the inconsiderate and selfish one all the sudden.

Mask are a joke. I have an employee test positive Friday afternoon. This guy wears his mask religiously. He wears it everywhere he goes and I’ve seen him driving with a mask on. The virus has a way of infecting mostly people that take every precaution available.

There is a study out there that I’ve seen, and used to have saved on my phone, that does provide that information. I found the article on this very board. Someone posted it back in April or may.

The study showed that basically any mask that was not a N95 did not help in preventing anything. In fact, cloth type masks were shown to actually be a source of infection. The study was done in Asia during the 2015 flu.

They don’t work though. There is more Covid now than ever (if you believe the numbers they are giving us) and almost every person has a mask on when you go inside somewhere

Have you not noticed how hard it is to get people to wear anything? Now you think forcing them to wear hard to acquire PPE they have to buy is going to happen?

They don’t work. Political. All about control and our “leaders” doing something.
