:raises hand:
BJJ is a very humbling and challenging sport, but also very rewarding.
You don’t realize how very little control you have over your body until your faced with having to defend yourself against someone that has that control/skill. You will be very helpless for a while.
People that train consistently not only have healthier bodies, but also healthier egos.
Most people go through life full-of-shite. They can bend their perceptions of certain things that allow them to stay comfortable and not damage their ego..
You can’t do that in Jiu-Jitsu. You can’t be full-of-shite.
It’s a struggle against another person who, if better than you, will beat you. Plain and simple. There’s no BSing your way through it.
The only way to get good or to be better is to show up, train, get beat, and learn. And do that consistently.
It’s a great martial art with a lot to offer, Outside of the exercise.
And it’s for everyone!! I train with 5’-5’ 140 lbs 20 year olds, and 6’-1” 240 lb 58 year olds.
