Just finished it and was pleasantly surprised. When I started watching, I was expecting a remake. I was kinda put off that Judy was a black girl, Maureen was in charge and Dr Smith was a woman. I just thought it was their way of making the show more progressive and liberal.

But as I watched it I started looking at it differently. They were using the same concept as the original, keeping the familiar characters but updating it for a new audience. Thought it turned out pretty good.

i never watched the original abut i binged watched the whole thing yesterday. I thought the show was very good minus one big glaring thing. Parker Posey. She just fricking sucked. anytime she was on the screen i wanted to fast forward through. Her character was always in teh right place at the right time, and no one ever caught on to how sketchy she was being? That was a big turn off for me. And it was like her character wasnt the brightest light in the box, but by the end of the movie she could use deductive reasoning to realize there was a way out of the locked room by reading through a manual made for scientists. I just think the show would have been way better than it was without her.

BTW i really liked the little black girl. Does her real dad ever make an appearance?

TLDR: Parker Posey sucked and the show would have been better than really good without her.
