A handshake was ironclad. Not anymore. Your word was your bond. Yes I do believe it is a linear scales that as our society declines so does the substance on which sure footed men stand. It's quite easy to jump ship and get on the life rafts. It's completely different to stand and watch the rafts float away while you go down

Well then you are either willfully ignorant of the facts of history or completely stupid.
Also, regardless of the first fact, these are empty platitudes that are in no way more or less true than they are today.
