In his first year as head coach, Dean and his privateers picked up 3 wins over Alcorn st, Grambling st, and LA Tech to start the season. Good to see. UNO previously started 0-3 last year and ended the season 14-40. Hope he can keep it up! #34 was always fun to watch at LSU with his clutch dingers into right field.

Will Davis also has Lamar off to a 3-0 start. LSU plays them on Wednesday.

Blake's little brother and former LSU player, Dakota, is playing for him at UNO.

He went 5 for 10 this opening weekend with a home run and a double.

Of course, that was with 2 of their 3 games facing SWAC pitchers.....

ETA: Kelly beat me to it while I was looking up Dakota's stats from this weekend.....

Go ahead Blake

Also, didn't realize that Matt Heath is in his first season as the head coach for College of Charleston and took the series from Nebraska this weekend.

Glad to see former players and coaches succeeding elsewhere.

Last year they played the Urban Youth Invitational in the 2nd week of the season and swept it, so I wouldn't make much of this start
