To be fair, that Darby up the middle play worked pretty well in '04 and '05. He had over 1,000 yards in each season. The '06 season was terrible because:
1) Our offensive line was among the all-time worst in Alabama history
2) Darby had a sports hernia that limited him considerably

Oh man, it never gelled. As I recall, Darby's only highlight in '06 was in the first half against Auburn.

The fact that Andre Smith finished 2006 with more rushing touchdowns than Darby did...

Dubose, Fran, Price, and Shula were all worth it to be where we are now. BAMA fans are experiencing a "once in a lifetime" run of success under Saban that only 3 or 4 schools will ever experience. Enjoy it and let the past be what it is, past.
