Peruna = Single best live mascot in college athletics.

It takes big, massive, gold plated balls to run out a pony as your mascot... or a lot of drugs.

Those are some great photos.

Reservoir dawg mentioned Bevo. He's a cool mascot but I've always thought he looks to be a bit concerned about his missing credentials.

Tusk IV is quite handsome in his own way.

But Smokey's my personal favorite. He's a great hound!

Smokey is the best looking dog in the SEC.

Jonathan the Husky at UConn is the best looking dog in football.

Lame? He does go on the field pregame and his habitat is directly across the street from the stadium.

The Bison is probably my favorite although I like the Texas Longhorn too. Boomer Sooner looks like an accident waiting to happen every time they take off.

Other posters have already mentioned this Mike doesn't leave his habitat. I assure you I'm not flaming, I'm just curious. When was the last time you remember Mike actually being at the game?

I remember seeing him back in the day and thinking it was awesome, but I haven't seen him in a while.

article from last season

I'm not sure if he has attended any games this season.

eta- I don't think it's lame that LSU doesn't force Mike on to the field when he's content in his habitat.

Wish he could make it to more games. However if I had a habitat like he did, guess I wouldn't want to leave either.

I agree. I'm sure in the past they would force him into the cage to go on the field for game days. Glad that's not the case anymore.
