Also, I am extremely anxious to see our passing game Saturday now that we have MM and JSW back. Not saying those guys will cure all our woes, or instantly make HM throw better, but I mean when you get 2 guys like that back it makes a difference.

I think you have to let him throw the ball some to be effective, though. If you don't, you might as well stick one of the RBs back there.

Agree. Might as well direct snap it Gurley. We have got to find a passing threat quick.

He sees the obvious that Mason is struggling and I don't think he will sacrifice games to allow Mason to remain the starter. Hopefully Mason gets his act together vs Vandy. I don't know what his problem is but he needs to get more zip on his passes in general and we need more pass plays down-field to stretch the field.

JT III, anyone? It's deja vu all over again. Problem is, I don't know that we have a legit answer waiting in the wings. We're just now entering into the crucial stretch of our SEC schedule. Arky isn't going to be the shitstorm they originally appeared, and even Kentucky is getting their collective acts together, too.

Not really. In 2006 we had a 5* that everyone on the planet knew was our future behind him, it was only a matter of time. This situation isn't remotely close to that. Also, both backups looked like garbage while JT was hurt, and he (rightfully so) got his job back after injury. It was only after a few losses and we essentially knew that our chances at the east were over that we put in stafford, because at that point there was no reason not to.

Everything we want is still on the table at this point, and playing a FR whose only game action is against Troy isn't necessarily the answer.

No matter how Mason looks against Vandy, it would be nice to see at least one of the other two get some meaningful snaps in that game. Successive weeks on the road against Missouri, Arkansas, and Florida will be the real test with the season on the line.

the reason for that is because the backups are CLEARLY better than the former starters. We dont' have that situation here.

we don't know that for sure.

This. And I have been making the JT III = Mason comparison too. The QB stable isn't the same, that we know of, but Mason IS JT III.

Also,

LSU- both QBs have played a fair amount, the FR looks better.

clemson-both have played a good bit, the freshman is head and shoulders better.

That was my point...in those cases both QBs had a good amount of reps and the FR happened to be better. We are not in that situation because our freshman doesn't have the reps.

I'll also point out that Watson looked badass against us, and almost beat FSU. Jennings has looked far better than the other dude at LSU. The limited time Ramsey has had he has looked very inconsistent. Potential for some beautiful throws, then potential to throw a rope directly at a DB with no reciever within 15 yards.

The more I think about it the more I just want Bauta in and Georgia copies Auburn and runs a frickload of read option. Marshall can't hit the broadside of a barn but it works enough for them. Sure, Bauta isn't that fast but...frick it, just give it a whirl.

Give the world what it wants, no, what it needs.

We need Bauta.

That wouldn't work very well. Our offensive line isn't built to play that way and none of our coaches have experience with it. It would be a clusterfrick for at least a season. You can't just change from a pro-style to a spread option offense and expect it to work.

Guy can dream.

I've already said here and to my buddy that watching Bobo and co adapt to a read option would be like watching a retard try to hump a door knob. I still wanna see a series of it just for shits and giggles.

we have Bauta though crow...anything is possible.

- Bauta in the pistol

- Gurley behind him

- Maxey and Quayvon flanking Fauta.

- No WR, frick them, don't need to pass.

- Rome and a backup tackle on the line

- run the ball every down

- defense quits before the half

How is Bautas arm strength? Obviously Ramsey has a cannon, don't remember seeing Bauta throw much though.

There is a reason Ramsey is ahead of Bauta.

fricking stout. Ramsey said Bauta had the best arm on the team, and that he (Ramsey) would probably never be able to match Bauta's arm strength no matter how hardhe trained, worked out etc. Said something about superior genes...
