Lobo, his next response will be that you were not REALLY in the military, since it is "only" the Air Force.

Well...he's not wrong.

Damn, how pale ARE the girls at Aggie these days? Because none of the Arkansas girls in this picture look Jersey Shore at all to me.

The blond girl on the upper left looks like the oranges I bought but my wife made me throw out because they were not organic.

I hope Collins lowers his shoulder and lays the pretend soldier on his back and squashes that mutt

Why? What'd either ever do to you?

re: SwineTime
is anyone else a bit concerned about an enlisted man who has this little respect for his officers? You know, the folks he is supposed to obey and follow into combat?

Kind of makes one wonder exactly how dysfunctional his unit may have been.

Nope. Respect the rank, not the man, until he gives you reason too.

That might work, but I'm in the Army and always have been.

They would make some cute pups, kind of like when the Beverly Hillbilly's "Ol' Duke" and the friend of the Drysdales' poodle had a fling.

Surely you were not smart enough to carry a rifle.

BTW A&M commissions more officers than any other school, except the service academies.

Pretend solider my arse.

So what's the story behind a Collie becoming mascot over all other breeds?

i too am not a fan of the white blonde orange skin look. she's got it somewhat but she's pretty b/c of her team affiliation.

It's a joint base. Ft Lewis and McChord AFB.

This is probably one of the more hostile threads on the rant. No one got hurt.

Aggies have an awesome mascot.

TheProgram asks "Why a Collie?"
good question. Rev-1 (1930s) was a mutt. After she died, an old Ag donated a Collie (but different Collie breed) as a replacement. "Collie" has just sort of stuck thru the years.

My grandfather (Class of '37) always claimed that he did not like her, because she started making noise too early in the morning. True story.

Interesting, amazing how one little decision years ago turns into tradition.

Hey SwineTime.

Yell Leader Roy May is a 13-year Army veteran who served in the 82nd Airborne, among several other elite units.

Is he military enough for you, or just a "milk man?"

Well somebody beat me to it but according to Wikipedia the first mascot was mixed, the second was a Shetland sheepdog and the third was the first pure-bred collie to be used. It didn't say why but this was 1966-1975 so I'm guessing the popularity of the show 'Lassie' had something to do with it.
