Does that mean they're more susceptible to the draft than any other male registered with selective service? Still waiting on an answer to that one...

LOL. Aggie comparing the Corp to the USMA.
One is essentially a frat for gay people.
Sorry to break this to you, but A&M is officially a senior military college. About half of those in the corps do in fact enlist after graduation with about a third of those making it a career. Prior to the mid-60s, attendance at A&M carried mandatory service requirement. The corps has produced 8 MOH winners. The corps put more men in WWII than all the other American service academies COMBINED.
No, not everyone in the corps goes into the military anymore. Calling it fake army however is at least mildly disrespectful to those who do now and those who have in the past. They do a lot of weird and quirky shite and it sometimes looks bad on camera, no doubt. It's still a huge part of our history though.

New Reveille needs to be an effin pitbull..

But how can we take you seriously when even your mascot is all, "Timmy fell in a well? frick Timmy. I'm not moving for anything except a good rough groomin' by the hairdresser corp"? It's all about the heroism, man, Y'all need a mascot that reflects heroism.

Reveille is an awesome mascot and y'all are just jealous you don't have an awesome dog mascot like Reveille or Smokey.

I'm very conflicted as I love dogs, respect USMC, but do enjoy a good flame fest about A&M's fake military.

We got a Commodore, man. Commodores are like the robber-barons of the river. Or something.
At least a Commodore conquered Japan. So there's that.

You can talk about what it used to be, but for the past 20-30 years, its a frat. And a dorky one at that.
The highest ranking officer is a dog. How can you say that's anything but a fake army?

So we're just gonna ignore all the "strange" camaraderie and hazing shite that goes on at Army and Navy?
You act like military-oriented quirkiness is unique to A&M.

Commodore is a now defunct rank that was higher than captain and lower than rear admiral lower half.
I mean the mascot is okay except for the creepy factor, but the anchor down is kind of a silly phrase.
You don't go anywhere with the anchor down.

Why do you hate America and our military?
quote:
Due to the quantity of officers and soldiers Texas A&M contributed to the US Armed Forces in World War II, Reveille was given the honorary title of Cadet General by the U.S. Army. Since that time, Reveille has worn the rank of Cadet General (5 diamonds). Since 5 diamonds are not manufactured, cadets align Cadet Colonel and Cadet Lieutenant Colonel rank on her uniform.

Yes it does. Selective service comes after you've already gone through the existing talent pool.

Take it up with Title X and get the law changed if it bothers you that much.

swinetime must still be bitter about his last NJP.

And anyone in the corps is part of that existing talent pool?

Only ROTC cadets: All freshmen, all sophomores, contract juniors, contract seniors, and any other contract 5+ year students fall in this category.
Look at the left shoulder patch. If it's anything but an A&M patch, then they're ROTC cadets.
