I agree how could they prove it, just look at the stats. Everytime I hear a coach say they stole our signs, it sounds like poor loser speak.

Interesting old article on FSU board about Auburn signal decoding. If AU has enough time, it looks like they may be good at decoding signals. I applaud the staff for this skill.

Well, hell, man. If you are stealing signs and they STILL have good stats against you, then you are doing a pretty shitty job of it.

Is it dirty or is it a teams responsibility to keep it from happening?

When you have more coaching personnel than you are allowed by NCAA and SEC rules in the booth in order to steal those signs that would be cheating...

I could see a team having a couple of guys sitting and watching film all week trying to decode signals. Not quite James Bond level. But interesting nonetheless.

Paying a coach to sit and watch for signals is not.

So, teams are supposed to pay their coaches to turn their fricking heads the other way when teams hold shite like this up?

But not having a GA do it.

I can promise you that the coaches tapes, that are sent to each team, don't show the signals on the sidelines. If they do, that team deserves to have their signals stolen.

I'm sure they have more film than the one Gus edited.

I'm not a smart man but isn't the reason their using signs in the first place is so the other team cant figure out what play their going to run? If the other team is reading your signals maybe you should do yourself a favor and change them not get mad because their out thinking you.

From where are they going to get these game tapes? Each school sends their game tapes to each other.

I hope you don't think that the game film the other team sends is the only film they have access to. Some of these guys are pretty resourceful.

I firmly believe that. That's actually all they need. It shows every play of the game.

If you just picked up on them by looking then I'd say no. But seeing as how their are multiple things on each sign with most of them meaning nothing then I'd say you would have to actually be doing some digging or spying to figure it out. You would have to be able to determine which picture is the real play and what it means vs the ones that are meaningless decoys.

Those pictures on the signs are not the play. That is the formation. The plays are sent it by signals or a number system......just like every other O.

I don't think its really cheating but it kinda shows a lack of respect to the game. Teams should stay ahead by mixing their calls up more as well to protect themselves from that.

Yeah but it all works together

Eta again I'm not saying it's cheating but I do think it's distasteful. Screw trying to figure out their play calls. Line up and outplay them and beat them because your the better team not because your the better spy.

So it's distasteful to read a QBs snap count too? You're learning his signal on when to snap the ball.
