KState absolutely should have won that game with a bunch of scrub 2* Jr College transfers. They blew it.

Auburn hasn't ran the same plays as last year
you know if a play doesn't work it looks like a different play.
be honest, k state pretty much shut down y'alls running game so you had to pass to win. that and a lot of luck mixed in with a k state FG kicker that couldn't hit shite.

Missing three field goals is what got them beat.
Nine points and AU had the ball inside the 30 with two mins in the game. Do the math.

Then there is also the fumble on their side of the field which gave you guys your first 3 points and the long drive they had down the field that ended up in a tipped ball in the endzone where an Auburn defender just happened to be in the right spot to easily catch the tip that should have been 7.
Its called fricking football. What a bunch of whinny pussies trying to rewrite the game.

Which side are you calling whinny pussies?

I truly think, if Auburn's wideouts caught better, Marshall could have had a career day. There was no pressure on him all game and the Kansas State DBs were dreadful and slow.
Yes. But K-State showed you might as well sell out to stop the run and make Marshall beat you.
And if he does, so be it.

They did not stack the box. Their dline just flat out played harder. They rushed four and were still get significant pressure on Marshall.
this ...

Yeah, they didn't really stack the box. They played 8 in the box at times because of formation, but otherwise they did what good defensive teams do - stayed disciplined and tackled in space. They didn't let all the motion and pulling linemen confuse them, and you could have made a clinic tape on how to tackle. They also did a good job disguising press and bail coverage to get Marshall to check to the fade (i.e. not run the ball), only to see it not be there.
Auburn won because they had superior talent, particularly their WR's vs KSU's DB's. They dropped a number of balls, and Marshall wasn't great passing, but he made critical completions when they needed them.
Auburn's defensive front looked great, but they looked vulnerable in the secondary, partly because they didn't respect KSU's pass game early on. They actually put 10 in the box at one point.
Overall though, they looked very beatable. Auburn's got the talent and coaching to be an elite team by the end of the year, but they aren't there yet.

I've said before that Malzahn's offense is similar in nature to Osborne's power I. Snyder gave Nebraksa fits at times.

The alignment?
Auburn is really an 8-4 team.

You guys weren't pumped to be playing a top 20 team on the road?

Minus the drops and he threw for 75% and over 300 yards and 3 touchdowns. Marshall wasn't the issue despot a few over throws.

Alabama doesn't get the same judgement against WVU, in yet another Chick-fil-A Kickoff?

You don't want to admit that you sucked and should have lost.
Auburn fans are the first to admit we sucked.
What we won't be party to is the repeat of some stupid narrative that we aren't a good team or we're just lucky.
KSU clearly spent the bulk of their offseason preparing to knock off the SEC Champion and bring glory to the amazing Big XII. They played the game of their lives in front of their biggest crowd ever and still lost.
LSU fans of all people should know the benefit of playing at home and what a difference that can make and how tough it can be to get a win in that environment. It's not a good metric for the rest of the season. We'll have plenty of games for that.

I'm not saying AU's performance was flawless by any means. I'm just speaking my mind as to some of the factors that may have contributed. Can WVU and KSU really be compared in this case too closely however?
WVU - Neutral Site, KSU - Road Game.
WVU - Season opener, KSU - Thursday night.
WVU - I don't even know the coach's name, KSU - Bill, the freaking "Wizard", Snyder.
Both teams (Bama and AU), warrant some criticism after their performances in the respective games. I'm mainly speaking out against the knee-jerk reactions (i.e. folks saying AU is going to get beat down by [insert team here]).
