Its kinda crazy but the pool of all the big "up-and-comers" got cleaned out the last season:

-Penn St. got Franklin

-Washington got Petersen, who has been on the top of lists for years

-Texas got Charlie Strong, which would have been the obvious answer for UF

-Louisville gave Petrino a legit job again

-Boise St. cleaned out the last great coach in that Arky St. pipeline

Who is left in at some mid-major that is highly regarded? This would be a bad offseason for a major program to get a new coach.

Hey, he can rebreak what he's broken before.

But SEC fans are mean and Shelley will probably say no.

There's just not gonna be a lot of big time options out there...The cream of the crop were picked up last year...

Florida will not hire another defensive type. The game is moving in an offensive direction. Hire a good offensive mind for head coach and let him find a good defensive coordinator.

Very few defensive guys have made good head coaches lately.

I've thought this for years and year.

Defensive coordinators are, by nature, conservative - viewing offense as something to control.

That mind set was fine in the days of grind it out football, but those days are rapidly dwindling.

Ole Mush end up back under Saban after he's canned and Smart finally goes elsewhere.

IF, Muschamp is shown the door, then I'm not sure. I haven't seen a legit thrown name thrown out there yet.

Yep. They should have pulled the trigger last year and brought him back.

Petrino at UF would be absolutely terrifying. I pray this doesn't happen.

Lane Kiffin is the obvious answer.
