Don't let the UAB game fool you. We were subbing in the 2nd string in the 1st quarter we were never in danger of losing that game. Does it look bad? Yes but we never had all of our starters on the field at the same time.
Plus UAB has a solid team...they've destroyed the other 2 teams they played and put up big numbers. They have a very good offense and a great coach

When were we in "danger" in that game? You obviously haven't seen the game nor even looked at the box score closely. We were up 13 after the first drive of the 3rd and went up 20 the very next drive. We marched the field all 3 drives in the 3rd before hitting cruise control and giving up a garbage time TD to let them back out of blowout status.
You were up 10 halfway through the 3rd. Neither team was ever in danger of losing -- hence why I don't see this line of reasoning that you are attempting?
We were also without our starting free safety the majority of that game and one of our starting corners was dinged. We haven't gone into nickel a single time yet. Haven't shown our 3-4 yet. Haven't put McKinney's hand on the ground yet. Hell, we haven't played Chris Jones and Preston Smith side by side but a handful of plays yet. We've shown you next to nothing defensively.
If you want to think you are getting our backup corners on islands without safety help like we did simply as an experiment in the UAB game for the first time under this regime -- go ahead and think it.

Same shite we hear every year about how Miss State has improved and will give LSU a tough game. But the result will be the same - the grinders get grounded - LSU 41, Miss State 17
