I certainly don't remember anything controversial. Not saying that when we were up 31-17 something happened and someone picked the ball up and ran, but it wasn't controversial.
We lost the game. The only controversy was the screenshot. He definitely lost the ball, but its inconclusive that he lost it before the goal line. The screenshot brings up the possibility that he did.
That video also showed Joe Lee Dunn looking worried like he had just found out that someone had figured his gimmick out. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it. We will never have a chance to be a contender in the West again until we dig up those ghosts in Tiger Stadium. We get a chance Saturday night.

quote:Nope, nope, nope. You think none of your miss state brethren would be chiming in about this controversial fumble you seem to remember?
LSU fumbled when Miss State was up 31 - 17 and Josh Morgan ran it back for a TD. It was called back by an official with no view and LSU ran it in for a TD the very next play. Maybe you shoved a corndog too far up your nose and left you with selective memory. I have the game on VHS and that play was a bigger one than the OP play.

quote:Hell watch this again LINK We have a 15 yard run to the 3 yard line, then on the very next play we score a rushing td

I think he's remembering another game or he has no idea what he was talking about.
Place yourself in 1999-2000. Y2k fears and all.
There was so much controversy on the MSU TD in 1999 that anything and everything was looked for in 2000. We got a little controversy with the 1st Quarter fumble and that's what is talked about.
If there was anything else there, considering the streak that is the streak, it would be brought up by every MSU fan in every situation revolving around this game.
In 14 years, this is the first time I have ever seen someone mention this phantom play. Now, like I said, its possible that a on a non-controversial play, the ball was picked up and run in, but it wasn't a legitimate controversy. It was football players being aggressive, Happens at least once a game.

You should see the video! The ball came out on the two yard line. It was ran back for a Miss State TD, but then was ruled an LSU TD by the official on the opposite side of the field (No review back then). Instead of Miss State going up by 21, LSU cut the lead to 7. That was a big Ol' buttfricking, but all you hear from Barney and Winnie the Poo's kids is that they got cheated in '99.
Also, Anthony Dixon broke the plane for what should have been the winning TD in '09, but we got buttfricked again. Then Tyson Lee mistook himself for Tim Tebow (twice) and pissed the game away. The LSUmbitches overlook games like that when they brag about that "one loss".

Looks like pass interference to me. The defender is clearly Hanging on him before the ball got there

Meh, State's left guard was holding on their last TD in regulation.

Refs missed a lot of calls back then. But it evens out since they missed one against LSU in 99 that won us the game. The winning field goal against Arkansas that won MSU the west division in 98 is also debatable . It is what it is

State was winning 7-0 in the 1st quarter when the play happened. The ball was fumbled out of the end zone, not returned at all.

There was no instant replay until 2005.
There are tons of ridiculously awful calls in the non-replay era.
Thank god for replay, there are still bad calls, but most of the egregious ones get fixed.
