Do you know anything about USC's facilities?

Sure, and they're great facilities. They just don't compare with the facilities of Bama, UT, LSU, and TAMU.

They're comparable to UGA and UF. Which is pretty damn good.

There isn't much difference aside from the in-state talent Bama has.

What's the difference? Better question is...could Saban have just as much success at UT as he did at Bama? Why or why not?

Don't forget that USC is closer to the Charlotte metro area than any of the large NC programs.

Yep, and 2016 will be huge.

USCe will tout their class full of 4* jucos now, but after Spurrier leaves they better find a good replacement or Tennessee will take their place.

Plus, the fact that UT has better facilities, more in-state talent

Facilities, yes. In-state talent, no.

I know UT is broke and all, but they went broke building facilities comparable to BAma and TAMU.

UT has the best overall facilities in the SEC, as they are the first and only school with both a 100K stadium and a 25K BB arena.

Still don't think they have the in-state talent to compare that in Alabama, Texas, Louisiana, or Florida. UT is dependent on out of state recruiting to succeed. I know the in-state talent in Tennessee has improved, but I doubt it's to the point where the Vols can win by relying solely on it.

True, but state loyalty tends to beat distance sometimes.

NC is one of those states like NJ. Whenever there's a stud from there, it's anybody's guess as to where he'll go.

You'd figure NJ kids would go to PSU, Rutgers, Maryland, out of distance. But lots go south to UF/BAma, many to go ND, lots go to Mich, a few to tOSU, and even a few to USCw.

NC kids are the same. Lots go to ND, lots go to Bama, a few UT, a few to USCe, and a few UF. The rest stay home at UNC it seems.

Facilities means the whole package, not just the wood on the weight room floor. Oregon's stadium is simply too small and too unimpressive for their overall facilities to be #1. I can accept Bama over A&M (until next year) but Oregon needs to get a stadium bigger than your average NFL stadium (and fill it) before it is #1 in overall facilities.

Might want to check the past 4 years and next 2 years of recruiting numbers. The population shift is real.

you say that based off of 1990s perception, but times are a changin...

Who does? I think TN talent is catching up quickly to AL talent. Plus, Bama has to share with Auburn. UT has to battle Vandy.

LSU and Bama can't win relying solely on in-state talent either. Why can't UT go into GA and FL the way LSU and Bama go into GA and TX?

I can see that point of view. I still think Bama's stadium and overall campus is much nicer than TAMU's.

Bama, TAMU, UT, and LSU are your top 4 in facilities and the others aren't close in the SEC.

After seeing the work done so far I am confident that we will have a better stadium than Bama in 2016.

As far as campus, maybe not. We have the Texas problem of too much space- we keep building out instead of knocking down! The A&M campus is five times as big as the Bama campus, so I bet I could cut out similar sized chunk from our campus that is nicer than what Bama has. Taken as a whole though we aren't near the top of the SEC for that one. I think that is why we centralised football facilities- so we could make just one part really nice to leave a good impression with recruits.

Agreed. I wonder if the SEC Network money will close this gap. It seems like some programs (like MSU) are kinda giving up on football and going all in on a favorite sport.

Good idea to centralize football facilities. However, part of the problem is just that part of the country just isn't as pretty as some of the old south. I live in TX and wouldn't wanna live anywhere else, but natural beauty isn't its strong point outside of the hill country.

Honstly I think coaches would still prefer USCe as the better job simply because of recent history.

No, we're just not delusional asses who think everything about a rival has to be bad. Plus I forgot that USCe stadium is not on campus.
