The hate for JFF was ridiculous, in terms of the fact he really wasn't "harming" anyone, but he was in the spotlight where more tact is expected by most people.

I guess the best way I can explain it, some probably view it as not being appreciative of their circumstance, especially considering 99.9% of us will never have anything close.

It was, but Johnny largely brought it willingly upon himself. The reaction was overblown, perhaps, but that comes with the territory of being a public figure. If you're not careful, stuff like that will quickly erode any good will you may have in the public eye.

But like 3nOut said, JFF's foibles were largely harmless. Jameis' have been toeing the line of decency and that's being kind given what legal troubles he's had.

I just think Jameis is dumb. College kids do stupid things, but a lot don't, too.

I'm with you on the idea that you must expect an overblown reaction in the public light. I'm coming from the point of the view the public reaction is ridiculous, but you must know that if you're in the public eye.

Right there with ya. I generally loom for excuses to like people, but Winston does not give me a good vibe. Yeah I'd make fun of him for sounding like an uneducated person regardless (hell, I do that with Charles Barkley and I love the Chuckster), but his other stuff (stealing/rape allegations) paint a more sinister picture IMHO. Hopefully I'm wrong and Winston proves me wrong, because I don't wish him ill, but still, he's not done a good job of representing himself in the public eye at all.

Granted. Wasn't trying to imply that they were the same when compared straight up.

But an accused rapist (whether he did it or not doesn't concern me, but perception is a delicate thing) should definitely think twice before making a spectacle of himself saying what he did. He is ignorant for this, plain and simple, and as such will have to suffer the consequences of negative public backlash, deservedly so or not. His every action doesn't occur in a vacuum.

this. i've always held to the fact that Johnny's a douche... but a fairly harmless douche.

this dude is going to hurt himself or another sooner or later. or if current allegations stand, he already has.

Spot on. The two are not alike.

And that's what will make Winston's future hard as hell, regardless of his decisions going forward. In the eyes of many, he's a rapist and a thief. A simple classless act for him will result in pandemonium across social media. So I guess you could say I agree with you on some level.

The screencap used for that meme was from one of the many belly-laugh-inducing scenes from that movie

Ok, so I finally read what actually happened and you motherfrickers are taking this WAY too serious. This is pretty damn funny. He wasn't harassing a girl, he was just yelling something crude. Lol. Seriously, get over yourselves and your "high morals." The rape thing, sure be morally superior and upset. Stealing crabs, funny but yeah you can act all high and mighty. A twenty year old yelling some obscene meme around campus? STFU.

I offer this as further proof of a declining lack of morals in America. This is not a good trend.

Then I would counter falling violent crime rates and markedly less rapes. Of course I could harp on other "moral" dilemmas in the past, but those two are good markers to disprove those that love to romanticize about the good ol' days.

Then I will rephrase it; How about a declining lack of class.

Most 6 years olds know better than to be that ignorant.

Just watching ESPN and they are saying that the playoff selection committee is allowed to take his suspension into account and remove it as a mark against them since FSU is playing without their star player if they lose.

If God is good and just there will be 4 undefeated power 5 conference champs and a 12-1 FSU. May the world burn ever more.

I've heard the guy speak, man, and he's more than dumb. He's borderline illiterate and his behavior is of the worst kind. Kid's all trouble.
