By the way, why the frick didn't we see more of Michel and McKenzie in space? I understand that Gurley was having a pretty good game but they looked really good on that first drive and I don't think we saw that again for the rest of the game. USC was keying on Gurley and I think we could have fairly easily exploited their CBs with how slippery those two can be in space. I suppose it really came down to Bobo not having faith in Mason. In that case, we need to start getting Bauta and/or Ramsey ready for next year by getting them some snaps.

That's a great point. I never understood why nothing went to them after that. Either Bobo didn't call plays to test them downfield or Mason wasn't going deep because after that everything was within 15 yards. I was piss-arse drunk so I can't be certain but, shite, IMAC and Michel were hardly out there at WR after that. It was all Towns and Tibbs with Conley and Bennett. All solid WRs but most specialize in possession. Few are burners or shifty enough to make plays.

The more I think of it you know what it reminded me of? USC 2010 when Murray was a freshman making his first road start. Bobo admitted later he didn't open up the playbook. I recall Murray hitting a few deep balls early and then never trying it again. This allowed USC to lock down. Difference with the 6 then and the 35 last weekend was the backfield. And a shittier USC defense.

And I'm as meh'd by Mason's performance as anyone but if they don't want Ramsey or Bauta out there still then I can't imagine how inept they'd be

I really think Mason is out there because he's paid his dues. If we drop another game, though, then we really need to start thinking towards the future.

Gonna have to agree, crispy. I just don't think Mason has what it takes. However, what's sad is that he is the best we have at the moment. Are FB, Ramsey, or Park any better? Common sense would say "no" because if the coaches had seen it then Mason wouldn't have been so entrenched. It appears that we are in a holding pattern until a new and better QB - hopefully Eason - comes along.

JT III was pretty entrenched until he just totally fricked it up. Joe Cox was very entrenched with the most prolific passer in school history on the bench as a freshman. Bobo and Richt put a lot of stress on knowing the system and knowing the offense, which is why Mason was named the starter (along with them feeling like it is owed to him). I think Ramsey is more talented and Bauta brings another dimension, but either way, we need them to get experience or early next season could really, really suck.

Remember the good ole days when folks on here would look at practice stats between Murray and Mason and wonder why Mason didn't start....

Oh yes, I remember those.

I have always said that HM is nothing more than a backup QB at best.

Remember the good ol' days when 35 points was enough to win? Remember the good ol' days when Stafford and Murray couldn't throw a TD in Columbia? Remember the good ol' days when we couldn't break 20 in that stadium?

I'm still trying to figure out how we scored 15 more than we have in 20 years or 10 games in that stadium but this entire board wants to blame the guy that runs the offense on the field.

Because to admit that Pruitt didn't uphold his part of the deal Saturday night would be a hard pill, myself included, to swallow. It's easier to just blame Bobo.

I used to think Bobo was an idiot. He's improved so much as an OC that I don't even think it's the same guy.

Kinda like when you are a teenager and you can't believe how dumb your parents are, then 10-15 years later you are amazed how how much smarter they got?
