The Bama secondary is suspect. Their running game is still tough, but with our secondary we should be able to crowd the line and make running as difficult as possible.

I think Kiffin was brought in to be the scapegoat when the Tide fail to make it to Atlanta.

He may a one a done.

I think we beat Auburn too. Still not sold on them this year.

I don't know, I'm afraid Auburn will just run all day against us. I see that game being like 40-42

With our secondary, our best defense may be to crowd the line of scrimmage and force teams to throw the ball.

I think we do a lot of it against Bama, aTm, LSU and Auburn.

I believe it plays to their weakness, throwing the ball, and our strength in the secondary.

I believe we may be the team that brings Hill down to earth. He hasn't faced a solid secondary yet and won't see one in Starkville for sure.

Bro, Bama is going to run all over us. Our secondary is elite, but so is their run game...and we have yet to stop the run. If Bama is smart, they should run 80% of the time and the other 20% should be bubble screens to Cooper and TE flats to OJ

LSU didn't run all over us and Bama isn't going to either.

The sharks will be looking to feed and heads will be knocking. Bama backs will get more thumps in this game than any game they play this year.

Nkraken will be in beast mode and Prewitt and Elston will be looking to make huge hits.

Bama isn't as good as last year and we played them very hard for one half, we have depth this year and their QB is not as good. You force them to do the lesser of two evils, throw the ball. Everyone is forcing Dr. Bo to beat them, and he has risen to the challenge. When they start playing more in the secondary our running game will magically come alive.

I expect our defense to look a lot like what VT did against Ohio St when we play LSU, Alabama, and Auburn. Bud Foster learned that defense while visiting Ole Miss this summer

We play LSU Oct 25, 2014. It's September 14, 2014.

Probably, but we literally killed Boise State players on quite a few hits. They still got yardage. We can knock Bama's Top 3 RB's out of the game on the first drive and they will still move the ball.

Eeryone talks about every aspect of the game except the one aspect that matters the most.

How does Bo play?

Is he the 76% badass passer from 2 1/2 games so far this season? Or is he the shitshow that was Bama/State last year?

We can talk about our run game and their run game and our DLINE all we want. But if Bo comes out and lays an egg Bama will walk out with another 24-6 type win. Cause our D is good enough to slow them down.

Our offense will be the best they have faced so far this season. If we can make a statement early on and put a little pressure on Sims/Coker i REALLY like our chances.

This is the best OM team I have seen. And this is the weakest Bama team in what like 6 years? If we can't do it this year at home with Gameday and the most fricking electric atmosphere Oxford will ever see then when will we ever beat Bama?

Serious question.

Am I "so, so bitter" or "so-so bitter?"

Big difference

Sure hope you beat hell outa them.

How Deep is your Defense, D Line, specifically?

There are some good players there, no doubt.

I have seen every game; Boise St. X 3; just can't remember how deep.

Bo seems to have worked out all the mistakes & is a very good QB.

Depth isn't a problem on the DL. Their run fits just haven't been what they should've been and the players have admitted to being in the wrong positions and missing assignments at times at times. Supposedly this was an emphasis during the bye. We shall see soon enough if they've fixed it or not.

The secondary took a hit losing Shepard and Davis but freshman Kendarius Webster and senior Cliff Coleman have proven to be valuable already. CJ Hampton has looked good as well.

What concerns me is our linebacker play. DT needs to have the game of his life on the 4th.

Bottom line is we are going to have to force turnovers and translate them to points. This is where Florida fricked up.

This is exactly what Florida did. It's the only thing Florida did right.

We're going to have to play good run defense and get pressure on Sims early. Otherwise, it will be a long afternoon.

I'm hoping we've been being vanilla as frick on D and Womack goes all Einstein blitzkrieg on these fools.

quote: Sorry OM, I don't think your team is as good as you think this year. Going to be a long day with your rush D trying to slow down Bama, then Coop having 1 on 1 coverage because you have to pull Pruitt in the box. Just don't see the big and uglies up front that you have to have to pull out the win. Your weakness, this year and last, is defenses stopping the run with the front seven. Bo struggles when teams are able to commit more to pass defense as a result, and I see Bama as being able to do this. The run game is missing Scott way more than I thought it would. Could be the OL though, I'm not sure. It's the same thing states D was able to do for the entire game last year, and what Boise did for 3 quarters until they inevitably were exhausted. Stop the run with the front seven, don't let plays slip behind the safeties.

So someone made this post in another thread, and I think they have some valid points.

I wanted to post this here because I was curious to hear everyone else's feedback on those weaknesses regarding our team.

Praying we've just not tapped into the potential this line has. Also hoping Womack has some tricks we haven't seen yet. The schemes really have looked pretty vanilla thus far. Haven't seen a lot/if any twists or stunts or brave blitz packages.

No. We've had big plays from Walton and Mathers. Our rushing game goes as the OL goes. Hard to run into or over Justin Bell's arse every play and gain yards.

I read where Haynes started over Fadol against ULL. Is that true?
