It doesn't matter what the reason was. The cross should not have been on the helmet.

a cross on a helmet forcing religion on anyone really? In any concrete way?

Um... Yes. I know for a fact the team most likely wouldn't want Islamic, Muslim, etc. religious symbols on their helmets. It's pretty much the same thing as wearing a religious necklace

Other than the fact it's not.

Players draw crosses and shite all over their cleats.

Too bad the University didn't seek the assistance of a conservative legal group to fight this. frick those cry baby bullies.

It's not an endorsement of religion. It's a memorial for a person who happened to be Christian. The cross is commonly associated with such memorials. Is the highway department endorsing a religion when they permit crosses on their right of way?

I have. I read it. It allows this, it doesn't prohibit it. You should try reading it.

I think the difference with that being that Arkansas State placed the crosses on those helmets. Arkansas State can't do that.

If the players wanted it on there, what the problem is?

Well, normally players don't get to do things like that with helmets. I think only equipment people can modify them.

Well then jersey's and helmets should also never picture an American flag either...because I'm sure that offends people too.

I swear our society is going to complete retardation. People cry about everything.

Then if the team doesn't want that, they don't do that. The team did apparently want the cross. Louis didn't. Frick Louis and all the dirty atheist evangelists.

If they gave the players the option of having them on the helmet or not, then it shouldn't be an issue.

The problem wasn't with the memorial, it was just with the cross. It doesn't really matter what the players wanted.

I think they ended up (or just thought about) cutting the cross down into a plus sign.
