This one was pretty good.
Stan's job certainly wasn't easy... 3 seconds to break down a football play from field level without any kind of replay... In fact, his job was damn near impossible.

RIP.
Prayers sent.
I had an interaction with him when I was bartending in 2011. Nice guy.

Met him in the club level of O-U Stadium a few years ago. We chatted for 20 minutes. He was a really nice guy. Would see him all the time at Deli News. As a guy who grew up listening to Ole Miss Football on the radio as much as we went to games in person, he was Ole Miss Football to me.

I'm starting to feel like my parents talking about the Gin or the Hoka. Deli News was the jam.

I lived right behind it at Edinburgh Place in 2010 an 2011. Used to walk to Kiamie's (tGOAT package store), pick up my liquor and pop in to DN for a sandwich.

My dad speaks of the Gin as well. It must have been a good time.

There was no better place to be on earth on a Monday night in late February and early March than The Gin

As a current student who grew up in a Sidewalk family, we were pretty poor and often couldn't afford to make the trips to Oxford. Ole Miss wasn't on TV that often so we relied heavily on Kellum and Stan. This is a very bitter pill to swallow, particularly for my dad.

Ben's piece was great as I think it speaks to just how many people our age grew up listening to him.

Any rumors of who will take his job? They'll have to throw someone out there in two days, at least temporarily.

No idea. They could reach out to some of the younger guys I guess. In the interim they probably won't have anyone for Saturday out of respect but that's just my opinion.

I agree. I think it would be too weird to have someone out there so soon.

There's going to be a silent microphone on the field in his honor. I figure they'll go to that microphone early on as a moment of silence.
