McNeil is our starting SS, he struggled as a freshman and Sophomore, but that's to be expected. He's looked much better this year.

Weatherd is kind of a 3rd down pass rushing specialist. Elite athlete, but not fully acclimated to our team/defense.

I think both have a shot to play on Sunday, but are by no means locks. Mixon has looked serviceable as a backup DT.

Has Texas recruiting slowed down for the big guys since Texas A&M joined the SEC? I don't think Alabama's has slowed down but it looks like LSU's may have slowed down some.

Pretty sure Ketch did an article on this, and instead of increasing the number, it's increased the overall rating. The caliber of player these SEC teams are pulling from us has definitely increased. Prospects are finding Ole Miss more attractive than Oklahoma State, prospects are finding LSU more attractive than OU, etc.

What has happened is that the majority of the elite players in Texas sign with an SEC school.

Playing a lot more SEC games in Texas helps all the teams participating.

Longhorns and Sooners are the big losers in this.

One of our QB commits for 2015 is a Texas kid, he was heavily pursued by the Horns after he committed to UT.

LINK

If there's one position that we need to recruit Texas for, it's QB.

dude did you miss last year we may have the best offensive coorodinator in college football 2 1000 yd recivers and a 1000 yd running back i know your new but thats never happened in SEC history n dude that worked against saban how has that worked on us nither team beat lsu n a&m hasnt beat lsu since joining which if im not mistaken means were doing something right against these amazing offenses and yea they had a championship run but they didnt win . you really dont watch football cuz the teams with the best d wins most of the time if this wasnt true oregon would be on their 4th or 5th championship. You can have all the 4 and 5 stars you want at the end of the day they are only stars and have nothing to do with their success in college it just pumps the kids head up and makes the fan base feel good about whats coming in prime example is when you guys beat all those 4 and 5 stars bama had a couple years ago if they dont develope those 5 stars next to a name mean nothing real quick.Stars equal potential and thats all if you watch the people who actually rate them 3 stars are athletes that have the potential of four or five star athletes just something in their game needs tweaking and 5 stars dont always pan out see russell shepherd and chris davenport, But keep wishing on your stars. The question is what are you guys going to change to finally beat lsu and our "out of date offense" lmao

Everyone but sips know to disregard the pathological liar Geoff Ketchum. He is one of the biggest reasons that Texas is in the crapper by overrating Texas commits and underrating the competition....especially Texas A&M. No wonder tu grads can't begin to comprehend why your players aren't really players.

The main reason for the drop in tu, OU and OSU recruiting is directly related to Texas A&M's emergence as a national recruiting force getting whomever they want in Texas sans a few that slip out to LSU or Alabama.

Ole Miss has a good recruiter right now and as long as he is there they will recruit well. When he leaves they will go back to being Ole Miss. But as to the OP Mississippi really isn't one of the big boys.

Dude

Funny how little ol worthless Sumlin has destroyed every LSU yardage record in the history of the SEC in just two years. Weird, huh?

You can mark my words Texas A&M in the next year or two is going to start beating LSU every year just like we did under Sherrill whether Miles leaves or not unless you change your offense. You will not be able to compete in the future without a Gus Malzahn / Kevin Sumlin type of offense and the players required to run it.

Your 2 1000 yard receivers are now in the NFL. With all of your best records you didn't win the SEC West or SEC Championship or a National Championship with your peak stats.

We have at least 8 receivers that could start at LSU with more coming in. We have better quarterbacks with more coming in. We have a better offensive line with more coming in. Your running backs may be better than ours but we have two 5 stars and one four star running back in the starting rotation so we are better than most especially since we throw more to our backs than you do.

You keep talking about the past and that is fine. But the past is not indicative of how things will happen in the future.

You are wrong about defense. The standard for defense over the last 6 or 7 years has been Saban. However, a Saban style defense can't shut down a Sumlin or Malzahn style offense. Maybe they will come up with the counter but no one has yet.

Unless Nick, Les, Bret, Mark or Steve figure out that they are running the wrong offense then their chances for future national championships are slimmer than most think.

Texas has some good quarterback recruits for sure. The Top quarterback in Texas two years ago is our starter now. However, last year we inked the top quarterback in the nation out of Arizona.

Why do you think Saban brought in Lane Kiffin? He is ahead of fans like you. That is why he is a coach and you are a fan.

Sumlin beat Saban at home with much inferior talent. A fluke? Not really.

Saban has doubled down with his 5 star tall rangy cornerbacks and safties just to counter Sumlins tall, strong, speedy receivers.

Saban is smart enough to know that football is always evolving. You....not so sure.

yes because we lost to teams with defense aka bama and that landshark d at ole miss we didnt lose cuz their offense was amazing we lost cuz they play physical defense. the last time we lost to a team with just an amazing offense was 2010 to cam newton. we went to a national championship the next year with PICK 6 Lee and Jefferson at the helm destroying great offenses like oregon and west virginia along the way. Truth is until all this crap your saying comes true its just talk cuz you look at the champions thru the sec's run of championships uf (06 and 08) top d lsu (07) top d and of course bama( 09,11-12) top d the only abbiration auburn which had a freak named cam. So until you can back it up with facts your just guessing cuz from what ive seen who ever has a d that is ranked top nation or creates the most turnovers 90% of time wins the championship

The only thing that has happened is that the guys that used to go to Texas now go to A&M and the guys that used to go to A&M now go to Baylor, or Tech or wherever else.

Now that we have better facilities

Good job catching up finally to the rest of us.

a coach that doesn't eat grass and secretly wants to go back to Michigan

No, he secretly has those crazy eyes on a bigger prize

quote:

that shows Texas A&M out recruiting LSU

You should outrecruit LSU in your own state. That doesn't mean we wont take a few we want each year.

quote:

When Texas A&M gets a little more defense on the field it won't matter anyway because a Les Miles offense will never beat a Kevin Sumlin offense with equally talented athletes.

Already happened twice

quote:

As we have seen so far a Kevin Sumlin team has the ability to beat teams with overall higher rated athletes on the field.

And he has proven he has the ability to lose to teams with overall lesser rated athletes on the field.

quote:

South Carolina thought they were good too and the Aggies sucked.

Clearly they were wrong. They are a horrible team. Congrats Ringer on your S.O. Gold medal.

quote:

Les doesn't know this but you are not going to win championships running the ball alone (Fournette). He is going to have to have a real quarterback with more than one or two real receivers.

I'll make sure to tell him this when I bring back his Championship Ring collection he let me borrow for my tailgate centerpiece last weekend.

This is one of the great things about these boards....you can post whatever you want based on nothing.

The offenses that won National Championships 5 to 10 years ago won't win championships moving forward UNLESS you have an NFL defense.

Good offenses beat good defenses. See Sumlin. See Malzahn. See Oregon the last 10 years.

You seem to think that I devalue defense. That is not what I am telling you. What I am telling you with all things being equal (defense included) our offense beats yours. Sumlin is bringing in his 4 and 5 star defensive players so that his offense will be able to win the championships. In reality football is based on outscoring your opponent not out defensing.

Dude we did not catch you. We lapped you!

Question: The Longhorns are the most arrogant fan base in the country. Are LSU Tiger fans the most arrogant fans in the SEC? Seems so.....

Yeah, I am brand new. Watch my first game just a few years ago....like 1966.

Admit it. You just don't want Texas A&M to be as good as it appears they are becoming!
