Well the good thing about this kind of offense is even with less athletes at OL, you can still be effective with playcalling (at least somewhat). There are lot of schools who get tons of yards with very little talent at the OL.

Hopefully we can draw up a good gameplan.

Would you want us to go for it on 4th down in the exact same circumstances twice on our first drive against FSU or our tougher SEC opponents? Is it typical to go for it on 4th down when your on the 46 yard line (Oregon is not the standard on how 4th down is typically handled). I was fine with going for it on 4th because we were playing EMU. But if it was GA I don't think I would agree with that call.

I'm of the similar mindset. Really, if we're going to win games it's going to be keeping our defense's stamina high.

All kinds of teams take risks -- that's what it is to win. We kind of puttered out at the end because we were you know, ahead by 50 something points, but if there is any place to try your fourth down conversions it's against EMU.

I have much more faith in this offense than before, and it's much better even against substandard competition.

Last year we couldn't even score more than 24 fricking points.

I'm not sure what some of these posters want, but I don't give a shite if we go for it on 4th these days. Teams that play it safe (like we did all last season) generally don't win.

Gator fans will never truly be happy Straws

I dont mind going for it on 4th. If we cant get a yard or 2 on our own 45 yardline in the first quarter against Bama or Georgia when its not crunch time and the pressure is off, then we are probably not gonna win the game anyway.

I bet you that this season, you will see the greatest defensive performances in UF history. When they see the offense putting up 17 points is the first quarter and then we got 30 by halftime. They are gonna mentally saying to themselves "holy shite we aint gotta play perfect to win the game, lets just go frickin play and bust some heads" Things are going to be less stressful for them and they are going to feed off the offense and be dominant imo.

I really thought I was harsh, man, then the real warriors came out.

"65 to zero, six hundred yards (a balanced 600)"

"Meh, should have had less third downs."

It's the first real game of the season, Jesus.

I also find it nice that we're both #1 in points scored and points allowed.

How long? No one knows.
