In all seriousness, UT blew that game. I was so f'n pissed

Alabama had no business winning a few games that year. Joe Kines was our savior. Had Alabama lucked out and played USC/Texas for the BCS Title.... Oh lord.....

Oh I'm sorry. I didn't know we were discussing if Bama was a relevant program. I thought we were discussing Tennessee's relevance.

I do love how Alabama fans forget that Tennessee absolutely owned then for about a 15 year period not too long ago.

I don't think any Alabama fans have forgotten this. In fact, it is mostly LSU fans who have forgotten this while lobbying for an easier schedule.

Living in Tennessee in the area they call the SEC of Tennessee High School - several excellent players have come out of this area. Several years ago, not one of them would consider UT because of Dooley. Now that Butch is there, they all want to play for him. Most of the top players have already committed to UT. Dooley did more damage than Kiffin as far as recruiting goes. The Vols are on their way back and I am happy for them.

I'Tavius Mathers was an amazing HS player. Now he is beginning to step up at Ole Miss.

This guy gets it. Lane fricked us up, no doubt, but Dooley was by far the worst thing to ever happen to Tennessee football.

Wrong. The person who hired Dooley was the worst thing to ever happen to Tenn football. He was the one who got turned down by every decent candidate, and then hired a proven loser with little hope of success instead of a interim coach.

Hamilton fricked us. He basically gave Kiffin a "whatever you want" contract, and Kiffin fricked us. Then he hired Doofus, and gave him millions of dollars to run our program into the ground. I also blame him for losing Bruce Pearl, I don't why, but it's his fault.

Yeah, good point. Hamilton is 1a and Dooley is 1b

I don't see how Dooley gets any blame. He had a losing record at Louisiana Tech the year before he was hired. He shouldn't have gotten an interview, much less the job.

I mean, if your AD just walked up to me on the street and offered me millions to run Tenn into the ground then sorry Vols I take it. And I am more qualified than Dooley was when you consider the fact that at least I am not a PROVEN loser as a head football coach like he was.

There had to be some FBS coach with a winning record that at least COULD have been something better. Derek was a smoke and mirrors way to try to cover up the disaster of that entire hiring cycle with "a name," even though the respect for the name came from the tree and not the apple that fell far from it.

I really hope TN does poorly this season... Need them to miss another bowl game... We are in on some of the same prospects... Love for the Rebs to win 9+ while the Vols spend New Year's at home.

But Butch is a good coach... They'll probably win 6 or 7 regular season games.. For an SECe team, that schedule doesn't do them many favors.

You've been a head coach at the division I level for multiple years ? If not, then pump the brakes and check your ego buddy.

LSU fan denying his decline by thinking other programs are on it...last time I checked bruh...LSU IS THE ONLY PROGRAM ON THE OFFICIAL DECLINE.

Enjoy it because it's already wrapped it's vice like grip around your frosh RB.

After Game # 1, if I have to rate the defense then Tennessee defense looked much better.

I hope that cleared things for you.

I am only talking 1st game comparison. Bama may improve as season progresses and Tennessee may look shaky, I guess we will have to wait and see.

I think the new energy that Butch has brought into this program may have bought him a couple more years.
