We have at least 5 very capable dbs. TB, EJ, MH, GS, and LC

Then put them on the field.

Until they are better than Cyrus Jones and Bradley Sylve, they aren't "very capable".

Sounds like to me guys that we are fricked regardless, because we aren't going to outscore them no matter who the qb is

Short passes. The wide receivers made those plays, not Sims

Give me a break. This is why some of us are frustrated with the fact that Sims isn't getting more credit. The wide receivers just delivered those passes to themselves, huh? Sure they were short passes but we don't get the yards after the catch if they're not thrown perfectly the way Sims did consistently.

He missed two easy passes across the middle that ruined 2 drives

No argument. Those 2 and the 4th down flag were bad passes

quote:

He also underthrew a deep ball to Jones. It should have been under thrown, but he threw it shorter than he should have. Jones would have gotten lit up if he caught that ball. It sailed too much.

So in your assessment WRs get all of the credit for the short passes but Sims gets all of the blame for an out and out drop by the WR. Seems like a fair assessment.

Depends. Their D is a bit better, but it isn't gonna be one of the best in the SEC. We have the skill players, the OL looked good vs WVU. IF we can complete a few balls down the field, we can score with em.

Sims running ability will open a lot up though. If teams start to spy him (don't know if they will, he may not run enough for them to do it) then that opens up our receivers even more.

Many of those weren't thrown perfectly. A lot of those throws were low or behind, yet the receiver still caught them.

That's on Jones. Bad drop, he fell right into his hands. The problem with Sims on that play is he gave it all he had and Sims had to sit under it forever. But it isn't fair to judge Sims deep passing from that one instance.

Should have kept reading the thread on BOL before posting what that dude said here but he confirmed that the main reason that Coker didn't play was due to his leg. I know it was reported in pregame warm-ups his leg was heavily wrapped.

Apparently he was only going to be used in an emergency situation or at the end of the game like we saw.

Interdasting.

We can't win a shootout. We have to stop them. Trying to win a shootout shouldn't be an option. We should just try to stop them.

Maybe we'll fine out more about his leg tomorrow. Team doesn't practice today for Labor day, right?

People on Twitter were saying he was still tossing it 65 yards in warmups, flat footed.

We should try and stop them AND score high totals.

The large majority were thrown perfectly. I watched the replay yesterday focusing specifically on ball placement on the shorter routes. The one to Cooper on 3rd down from our end zone was completed but definitely behind him. Jones caught 2 short out rights that were on the inside shoulder but not sure whether that's where the throw is supposed to be or not. There were at least 15 that were either perfect or good enough to get a good grade when they review the film.

Our goal is always to be highly efficient on offense, but we will be better served controlling the ball, pounding it and wearing down the defense.

And scoring. I'm not saying we should have a bunch of short drives/HUNH and put the D on the field. But we should be finishing those long drives with TDs.

Sims is not the answer. If we are going to roll the dice with the QB position, then play the guy who will be here next year too.

If Sims was the QB beyond a reasonable doubt, he would have been named the starter. That hasnt happened yet, the reason, I dont know.

Why do you keep suggesting racism? There's nothing to even base that on assumption on. Stop with that shite or get the frick out already.

Edit: In regards to the earlier posts of the thread.

It doesn't necessarily even have to be racism though. It's human nature to identify with and in turn root for people who are most like you. I think that does play a part in it even if it is subconsciously.

In that case, I'm rooting for whoever shares my ingrained want for Alabama to win.
