Ummm no. When our starters played in the second half, we rolled. Our backup QB scored 21 points.

Your first half play had nothing to do with the back up QB...he played as well as Marshall

I'd say as a couple of others have that grading this early on is tough.I am not sold on the ATM win as much as some here are. I never really bought into the prowess of USCe this year. ATM defense showed a lot of holes which a good QB would shred and they won't be able to march all over a good defense like they did the other night. The verdict is still out on them and I think many of these SEC West teams will look different as the season drags on with the new QBs developing.

That's right because we know how dead on accurate preseason predictions are...but I'm glad to see you'd rather post a little emoticon than argue your point.

Preseason predictions aren't being debated. Week 1 results are.

And if we Aggies have the temerity to defend what was a solid win by literally any metric, we're labeled delusional.

I swear, this place is a virtual insane asylum, completely devoid of logic

that ranking (for whiskey) was bullshite as your bullshite offense proved. LSU will lose a number of games this year because of your offense.

LOL Wisconsin will likely win the Big Ten West and maybe even the conference. You = dumb.

See you ATM fans are being way too defensive(ironic isn't it) about statements. All I did was add an opinion and observation to the conversation. Preseason hype MUST be factored into a rational and logical discussion of week one results as well. Just because a team is labeled as high end before they hit the field then come apart at the seams doesn't make them worthy of their lofty ranking or entitle them to be seen as this great foe. My point was that time will tell and just because I don't buy into the USCe hype this year doesn't mean I am wrong. Right now it looks like a solid win but it is up for debate on just how good it was.

Haha...I never posted anything of the sort. USCe lost a lot of talent to the NFL and were overrated in my book so you are arguing with the wrong person here dude. Why are you so uptight?

There is a reason for that. They have been in this position before.

Yes, our defense is nowhere near good. As you saw on Thursday however, it doesn't need to be for us to be a contender. Even IF USC is significantly worse than they were last year they are still a top-25 caliber team who got destroyed in a building they hadn't lost in in three years.

And as MANY have pointed out, 14 of their 28 points were freebies due solely to blown coverages. That is fixable over the next several weeks as we play scrubs.

Actually, we haven't. Thursday was the first time in program history we beat a top-25 team on the road in the first game of the season, and the first time we've ever beaten a top-10 team in a season opener. It was the first top-25 team we've beaten in the first three weeks of the season in 22 years.

LOL! And foresight is good to quell hype!

I appreciate you arguing football by the way. I agree that some of the things can be worked on with the blown coverage but let's face it, they didn't really get a dose of a top level QB. The ATM offense certainly didn't get any pretense of a defensive challenge either. Now do I believe USCe can BECOME a decent team later on this season? Sure but they are a poor way to gauge another team at this juncture of the season. That is why I simply can't buy into ATM yet. Just my $.02

Auburn
ATM
Bama
LSU/Ole Miss

I expect this to look way different in a few weeks.

Dude what? Those are incredibly specific facts that are irrelevant to my point.

The point is that we have seen this from A&M before - new QB who runs a wide open offense very effectively....until they run into a defense who can shut it down.

You guys looked good, no doubt about it. You have looked good before and failed to win any kind of championship - conference or otherwise. This is why you are getting defensive.

Nah, we're just tired of always having the goalposts moved in anything we do. No Ag said we were going to come in and win an SEC title right off the bat. Folks act like we couldn't compete, then when we prove we can, folks fall back to well-you-haven't-won-a-title. No shite, that's something we have to build towards, and we've shown a commitment to that, as evidenced by our recent results. Then coming into this season folks act like SC is gonna kill us out the gate, but when we punk them in their own crib, it's all Sc-was-overrated-and-we-didn't-buy-the-hype-anyways. It's madness

Guarantee you if/when TAMU does win an SEC or national title, the goalposts will get moved again. Such is the way of the Rant.
