I don't think Auburn is starting the season next year in Fayetteville. Doesn't seem fair really, but the SEC network demanded some marquee matchups for the first weekend and we drew the short straw.

The head office really didn't do us any favors this year. We already have to start the season with a conference game on the road, we play Texas Tech on the road, then they give us Georgia as our other East opponent. Why the frick didn't they let us play Vandy?

We've played Vandy more recently (2011 - Franklin's fumble return) than we have Georgia (2010 - Mallett to Childs).

Not sure, but that may have played a part in it.
