Looking into buying a new grill for the patio. Stumbled upon this grill at Lowe's the other day, and can't seem to shake it off my mind. Has anyone had any experience with it? Willing to recommend it?

Char Griller 6719 Series Chacoal Grill

Any other suggestions on grills that are in the same $300-500 price range?

I bought this no frills pit from Academy a few years ago. It is built like a tank.

the char griller has very good reviews on Amazon. It is also a smoker and grill so it is a good combination in one unit. Unlike what I have with five Webers - 1 gas grill, 3 charcoal grills, and a Smokey Mountain bullet smoker. I'm about to add to that by getting two 18.5" portable Weber Jumbo Joe's.

The only drawback I could see with Char Griller is cooking surface/area. I have cooked two large briskets (17 to 18) pounders at the same time on multiple occasions. I have also smoked six racks of ribs a few times on the WSM. A couple times using rib racks then I got another 22.5 cooking grate and place it upside down on the top grate like in the picture below. I can fit 2 racks of pork spareribs lying flat on all three cooking grates in the smoker.

The Char Griller while using the warming rack has 437 square inches of cooking surface. In comparison the 22.5 WSM with the two grates that come with it has 726 square inches of cooking space. But if you don't smoke for large groups of people the CG will work.

Inverted grates - not mine - just a picture I found on the web:
