The amount of Bama fans that don't realize it's a lot harder to win at South Carolina than Alabama is mind boggling.

Yeah but that's not the issue. The issue is Spurrier bragging about not working hard, and then having the gall to call out 4x national champion Nick Saban by name to further underscore the difference in their work ethic, as if he has accomplished enough to do so.

Spurrier needs a handler to keep him from saying stupid things.

Slighted? No. Wondering why he's constantly bringing up Saban? Yes.

Bingo.

The OP was another alleged Spurrier quote regarding Bama...just sayin'.

I'd like to reiterate what another poster said in that no proof of Spurrier saying this has been provided.

And he makes jokes, it's nothing new. Get over it.

Yes, many bama fan comments confirm this to be true.

Why would you wonder what Spurrier says/thinks when your coach has had the success he has? Spurrier likes golf and Saban likes trophies and rings.

I respect what both coaches have accomplished in their careers. Spurrier should be commended every much as Saban for what he has done with USC.

Who cares? It sounds like Stevie and truth be known he and Saban are friends. Even Saban would love the comment.

So you honestly believe that saban could have won an ACC Championship at Duke?

So you honestly believe finishing the season at Duke 8-4 while finished tied for 1st place in the ACC, not winning it outright, and in the ACC which at that time had 8 teams that did not include VT, FSU, BC, Miami is impressive? Give me some of what you are smoking if you believe Saban could not have won there. Dooley would have.

They did not finished ranked that year and ftr Duke had won the ACC title 7 times prior to the OBC showing up in Durham.

This is exactly what I think. I bet Saban sends back photos of his trophies while eating a debbie cookie...

Don't be mad. I like Spurrier, met him once in Gainesville. Funny as hell, just seems to have a burr up his arse about Saban for some reason. Based on Spurrier's own comments, of course.

Not before eating that Little Debbie that he just dropped.

Why do the Bama fans in here feel slighted by OBC's comment?

Old school Bama fans remember the OBC at Florida and all the SECCG's he beat us in.

The way he's talking shite like it's 1993 stirs up memories of those times... JMHO

I don't think anyone gets angry at Spurrier. The discussion usually had here is...

what Spurrier has done at USC = what Saban has done at Alabama

It's just not true.

What would you say if I told you Steve Spurrier lost to Mike Dubose twice in one season?

Between this thread and the earlier thread about Saban's game day coaching the Auburn fans have come out of the woodwork to talk about how Saban isn't really all that good.
