Dont breakdown why we are favored either. Just take it for what it is. The favorites are ranked higher with the potentials right behind.

I don't care that much
just saying bama, imo, isn't the 2nd best team in the country

They've been saying that for years. The fact of the matter is, defense wins championships.
The 2010 Auburn Tigers were the only national champion of the BCS era not to have a Top 10 defense. That stat is deceptive, however, as they were amazing at stopping the run that year.

Sure it does, in a lot of things, recruiting, fans, stadiums, coaches, tv deals, NFL drafts, individual awards.

That was my guess as well ,but they don't even matter to the playoff committee because they have preseason rankings. The only polls that really matter is the internal committee poll and the Harris poll.
So TV deals ?

We also have what is quite possibly the most talented roster in the history of Alabama footbal.
Ok I have to call bs on this one. 2010 was way better. This is weakest bama team in last five years on paper but you still should be good enough to win 10 games.
