But it also stays beautiful on the weekends because all of the trash and traffic of gamedays stays limited to the stadium area. I can't imagine how disgusting the campus would look if the stadium was where the library is, as it originally was.

This is probably the first and last time I will ever see someone argue that not having your games on campus is a good thing. It's like arguing that driving a POS Buick K car from the 80s is better than a driving brand new BMW because you don't have to worry about the car being dinged up in a parking lot

Disagree completely. It's not like the stadium is 20 miles away - you can see the damn thing from the library. It keeps the school a school, and the athletic department as something auxiliary. The main part of USC's campus looks like a beautiful liberal arts college, not like some sort of monstrous institution that only exists to support a football program. By having Williams-Brice, Carolina Stadium, and the CLA across Assembly from the heart of campus, it allows the school to function as a school. It honestly was one of my favorite things about going to school at Carolina.

I've been to most every other stadium in the conference, save LSU and UK, and I wouldn't trade USC's setup for anyone else's.

Plus when college gameday comes to town it limits how many away fans show up.

With all of the work that has gone into the Farmers Market and the upcoming improvements to the apron, I wouldn't be shocked to see Gameday move back to the stadium area.

When I was an undergraduate, I agreed w/ you.

Now, it's a little more complicated. An off-campus stadium has plenty of advantages. Unfortunately, USC negated most of those by building our stadium in an industrial/warehouse area. We are only just now slowly recovering from that insanely stupid mistake. As we continue to redevelop the area, the benefits are coming into sharper relief and I'm beginning to see several of the advantages of an off-campus stadium.

To be fair, the stadium was built first, near the fairgrounds, and all of the other land uses came after that.
