Yea, Golsan could probably win a guard spot along with Drago. Put Young back outside.

True. I didn't mean he wasn't doing well, just that with Kozan out, I wish one of them would have done enough to win the start so we would have Young on the outside.
I know you did not mean it that way. I just put that out there for anyone who was not aware of Danzey's progress. Diamond has had 2 injury stints since he came to AU that has killed his chances to play to this point. This Summer is virtually the first time he's been healthy while at AU.

Surprised Adams hasn't been able to grab a starting spot.

What makes you say that. I have not heard anything buzz worth on him since he cam to AU.

99.9% sure he was talking about Monty Adams not starting on the DL instead of Will Adams.

I don't know, it'd a log jam at tackle and guard...

Avery Young, Patrick Miller, Shon Coleman and Braden Smith can all play tackle. Alex Kozan, Avery Young, Braden Smith and Austin Golsen can all play guard. We have a ton of interchangeable pieces and a lot of competition there.

So much depth up front and if land Ivey that's a guy that could impress too up front. Curious to see if Young or Coleman make jump for NFL this year. Even if they do we are fine up front. Golson has gotten rave reviews so I wouldn't be surprised if he was at RT or RG next season. If Young Coleman come back for next year we will probably have at least 8 guys that could play.

Coleman,
Young,
Kozan,
Smith,
Golson,
Miller,
Smith,
Dampeer

And guys like Danzey and Leff have done well too. Awesome problem to have. Plus with our OL haul this year should still have this logjam for years to come

The big surprise to me on depth chart was Ruffin and Roberts. Thought both were doing well but expected guy like King at #4 safety and Alexander as #3 star (since Therezie is out). Excited to see this defense. Finally have a bunch of good talent out there in a system for more than one year

Ok. We were talking OL at that point so I though his post was still at that position.

Yeah I saw how you came to your conclusion which made sense for the context it makes much more sense if he meant Monty haha

Roberts did not surprise me. He's a natural field Safety with his length and range.

He surprised me in the fact that he has only been on campus since this summer and is already #2 on the DC. Good or bad? We'll find out soon enough.

Thought we might see a guy like King there but excited Roberts is playing. Love the fact we are only starting 1 freshman this year. Shows we have built depth and quality talent and so we get to use freshman as boosts instead of needs.

How many snaps will Tre Williams and Robets actually get against Arkansas? I think it will be more of a 3 man rotation with Swain backing up both LB's and Whitehead, Ford and Moncrief at safety early. I also don't see Ruffin getting a ton of snaps on early downs at Star so I wouldn't be surprised to see a smaller LB like Mitchell or Harding get some snaps there.

Hutchinson not even listed on the depth chart. Is he still with the team?

fwiw, Hutchinson's father passed away last year. It might be a mental thing affecting him

EJ seems more comfortable playing experience over raw talent. .. too comfortable for my liking, so I expect that we won't see as much of Tre Williams as many of us hope to see.

It depends on how gassed Kris Frost and Cass McKinzy get...

Cass McKinzy will be playing MLB and rushing the passer as a DE in certain situations. Kris Frost will flip-flop from WLB to MLB, depending on the down (rushing or passing). Anthony Swain will likely be the first off the bench, but if the defense can't get off the field, we will see some of Tre Williams.
