"FAYETTEVILLE -- Detectives are investigating three overnight car fires in Fayetteville.

According to the fire department, one car parked at 711 west Douglas at Courts at Whitham was reported engulfed in flames around 1 a.m. That fire ignited another nearby car.

Three hours later and about a mile away, a truck owned by Razorback Quarterback Brandon Allen was reported to be on fire at 711 west Douglas.

Viewer Adam Zorzin sent KNWA/Fox 24 video and pictures of the car fires on West Douglas. Zorzin said he heard a large explosion and called 911. There are no pictures or video of Brandon Allen's car at this time.

The investigation is trying to determine if the two incidents are related. As is procedure, investigators are looking at the cases as possible arson.

The Twitter account @Arkansas_Logo posted this picture this morning of what they say is Allen's burned truck."

The Douglas St address is practically on campus. I wonder who lives there.

It looks like the first truck was burned by mistake.. then they went and got Brandon's.

This means that someone who knew him well probably didn't do it.

I'm still leaning towards an Auburn fan. It would be just like Auburn fans to frick up and burn the wrong truck first.

So I'm reading that both vehicles targeted were Avalanches. Sounds like something personal and within the college student community to me.

No way some random "fan" knows what model or make BA drives and recognizes it, or mistakes another one for it.

Well, given that it was in the news for being egged, it was pretty easy to figure out he drove an Avalanche. Auburn fans just probably didn't do enough google research before the Arson.

I think the opposite. You have to be at least somewhat connected to his circle to know what he drives and attempt to target him that way.

College kids know what their friends and enemies drive. They might not know exactly where they live, though. Especially at the start of a new school year when everybody is moving around.

I remember the news story, but I didn't recall what he drives. I think he did used to live closer to where the other vehicle was torched. Still, I remember knowing players by their vehicles when I was in college. I still remember what Nicky Davis drove, for example. And usually there was smoke rolling out the windows.

Also, somebody knows who did this. The fact that the person lives close enough to torch 2 vehicles in 2 1/2 hours also makes me think it was a student.

Burn one car, stay up, hear it was the wrong car. Find out where your target lives, then burn another one.

Some "fan" of either team isn't going to be hanging around in the neighborhood, and they aren't going to find out through the grapevine at 2 am that they got the wrong car the first time. A student would hear about it via social media, etc. Grown ups are sleeping.

Yep. Otherwise, how would they know the first one was the wrong car?

I just don't see this being some random fan. This seems way more vindictive.

0% chance this is football related.

The egging wasn't either. This is all about some ho being a ho.

We used to go with white shoe polish on the windows to announce to the city what we thought of the person driving the car. Many a people walked out to their car at 7 a.m. to leave for school, and had to suffer the embarrassment of driving through town with something vulgar written on their windshield.
