In college basketball recruiting, espn >>>> 247.

247 is just the natural go-to source here because it gets used so much for football

LOL at ESPN. I thought you guys used 247 here?

He used ESPN and said he liked ESPN, thus I said "Your precious ESPN".

Basketball class rankings are retarded anyways, some years teams take just a couple of players and other years they take 4-6.

Anderson has recruited a McDonalds All American 5 star Top 20 player here in Bobby Portis, a 4 star Top 30 player in that same class Kingsley, a Top 80 4 star PG in Beard, another Top 135 player in Nick Babb in his last 2 classes. And he starts this year off with a high 4 star Top 50 player.

His 2012 class was rankings wise worst class, but on the court maybe his best, that class had 3 star Michael Qualls and 2 star Anthlon Bell, both starters and big contributors especially Qualls. Also had Coty Clarke JUCO transfer and he was our best player last year.

To imply he hasn't recruited, and damn well, is what I was laughing at. We're set up very very well this year, so hate on haters.

Cool. Still going to be a LSU/Louisville battle till the end. But go ahead and get your hopes up.

Louisville already has a SG and a SF committed for the class. Pretty sure they dont have room.

It will be either LSU or Mizzou, and i think LSU is a slight leader right now

Louisville is still actively recruiting Antonio Blakeney and Perry Dozier at SG. Dozier is kind of similar to MCW in that he's basically a big PG, but he isn't as good on D and shoots better from deep. Blakeney is very similar to Donovan Mitchell, who's already committed to UL. Both are pure scorers. They're still trying to add guards. According to everything I've seen, Antonio's list probably looks something like this.

LSU

Louisville

Kentucky

FSU

Mizzou
Oregon
USC

I haven't heard anything that would lead one to believe Mizzou is second though. Y'all have some kind of connection to him or something?

A quality coach who has been to multiple elite eights as an assistant, two final fours (although at DII level), a style of play that is attractive to potential pro prospects.....

On a lesser note going back to what I said yesterday Dave Matter

Jimmy Whitt says he's known Mike Anderson & Melvin Watkins since 3rd grade. Those relationships played a big factor in decision.

Mizzou was never even in consideration

Fuller has been on him since his sophomore year I think and he is one of the best recruiters in the SEC. He has visited before and, as mentioned earlier, will most likely take an official the weekend of the georgia game. that at least puts us in the top 5 and one of the Rivals analysts think LSU and Mizzou are out front right now.

Ah, I see. Just hadn't heard or read much about Antonio and Mizzou. It's gonna be interesting to see what happens. Is he close to this Bryant kid from Huntington? I know he's close with Ben Simmons since they play on the same AAU team.

It will be very interesting. As far as i know the two have not talked haha but it would not be hard to convince 2 top 25 players to play on the same team. Good players naturally want to play with other good players. The tough part will be getting them both to come to Mizzou.

I didn't know Simmons and Blakenly were close, that makes me a lot less confident. But like we said, it will be an interesting recruitment to follow for sure

They're AAU team is actually broken down into grades it's so stacked. The senior team alone has 5 top 100 players and 7'5 center Tacko Fall. Just unfair. But I'm pretty sure that his relationship with Ben is what caused his initial interest in LSU and it's just grown from there. Pretty sure he'll be signing in November.

Alex Owens is on that team too right? I heard he wanted to commit to us awhile back but we said no because of grades or somethin like that. ended up committing to Providence not too long ago

Yep. We thought we had him locked up as well until we backed off. We moved onto bigger targets though, didn't hear anything about grades. That E1T1 team has 3 5 stars though. That's crazy even for AAU.

Simmons and Blakenly i know of but who is the third?

Unfortunate for Owens to get told no by 2 rising SEC schools and end up at Providence though
