Damn, that is ridiculous.

Most places will charge a minimum on what you have to spend to stay and watch. Its not uncommon to make $15,000-20,000 on just one day from food and alcohol sales. But it makes it nearly impossible to have a decent sports bar in a small town that doesnt just play stuff off local channels.

Interesting, I don't think I've been charged a minimum. I guess most place must figure you'll spend at least a minimum to cover it regardless.

I went to a bar in STL to watch a game and they wouldn't let us stay unless we ordered at least $20 worth off food/drinks. There were three of us so it really came out to <$7 per person so I wouldn't complain. But if you go in and try to sit without ordering anything you would likely be asked to order or leave. Very few people try that though.

These networks are stupid and will eventually prove to be disastrous both financially and spiritually.

Are they stupid? Or are they brilliant in understanding supply and demand? If people wouldn't pay for it they couldn't charge what they do.

Disastrous financially and spiritually?

Financially no. If demand goes down then price goes down. Supply and demand are elastic. Econ 101.

Spiritually? Where does that come from? Are you a Tigers fan? You can watch a program or not, if you feel it hurts you in some way. But if that's true, should you REALLY be spending time on the Rant? Make the best decision "spiritually" for yourself, but don't try to define it for anybody else.

I don't know. I'm actually kind of pumped at the thought of being able to see some of the non-revenue sports much less avoiding that stupid pay per view shite.

here we go, the "experts" on who a fan is.. this is the atypical homer and excuse maker for Mizzou and it's coaching staff.

Please follow along. There is a difference between a question and a statement.

Somebody is certainly trying to posit that they are experts, but it ain't me.

you're the one who always questions anyone who doesn't follow the "be a good fan" script, because you aren't able to understand anyone who thinks outside the small box that is the world you live in.

someone else has an opinion and you don't understand or agree with it, it's not a matter of process or "following along", it's a matter of people not having to conform to what you think is standard. basically frick off and take your sunshine pumping arse back to tigerboard with the other unicorn clones.

You are indeed an impressive "expert." Now you know what I'm thinking, too. You're unhappy that I don't live up to your expectations. I don't care. Try making an intelligent point occasionally and maybe people will care more about what you have to say.

My only expectations of you are that you will be the a-hole you always are. Continually handing out your "expertise" on how the Mizzou staff knows more than anyone and is beyond reproach or questioning. At least there is one thing you are good at.

Spiritually bro?

Really?

Have you been meditating with the monks for the last two months?

I appreciate the level you float on, but for fricks sake man, have some fun every now and then.

They won't have an app or anything you can subscribe to. If you get watchespn you can watch the sec network on there.

Spiritually we're bankrupting ourselves with an ever increasing blissfully ignorant addiction to escapism entertainment.

I think we all have other things we enjoy besides watching football on the weekends. Fun hobbies and such. Stuff that's satisfying and good for the soul.

I mean come on, we aren't bama fans.
