Guys that new stadium is awe inspiring... Pure greatness

ETA: Pulled this gem from our 24/7.
Even better, an Ole Miss subscriber called him out in a long paragraph right after that.

Holy shite...that is some crazy ranting. Are people on the spirit upset over a stadium rendering?
Posted on 8/13/14 at 8:54 am to DynastyDawg
Could this be the first time State has gotten every thing right from the planning standpoint?
That is amazing. When this is finished, State just upped the ante for the other baseball schools.

I doubt Yancy believes much of that shite
but that's a good way to rally the troops/retards. he's essentially coach34 with recruiting info.

I don't really follow expansion/building projects much other than our own, but I think Ole Miss got deceived a bit on their initial football rendering? Maybe that's why some people are pissed off.

Hopefully we just kickstarted the college baseball arms race. I'd really like to see it expand in popularity.

I think they are just generally upset about the baseball stadium, the football expansion, and everything else we've been doing.
I think you could find Ole Miss fans that would agree our football stadium is now better than theirs, coupled with the fact that they're still upset about what they're finally doing with their football stadium not being what they were told in the beginning was going to happen.

Bingo.
Also, I mean LSU fans are conceding that our stadium will be better than the box, yet some not so sane Ole Miss fans think that Swayze will still be better than what we've got planned? LULZ.
I mean I work with LSU fans, and even guys that normally would try to punch holes in everything we do didn't have anything bad to say yesterday.

A lot of what Yancy said is retarded but some of what he said is true. People on our side are freaking out over yalls stadium being nicer than ours. I blame Boone for putting out that absurd rendering. That was obviously going to get everybody's hopes up.
Yall will renovate and it will be nicer. Then we will renovate and ours will be nicer. Then yall, then us, then yall, etc... It's how it works. People on our side need to chill out. Just look at the expansion thread on our board and see it for yourself.

Really? I've been hoping we would defund our team and use all that wasted cash on football and basketball. Find something to do with Swayze that would make up for the 20 bones we spent on it.

Most definitely. There will always be a back and forth.
Baseball:
I just don't ever see college baseball going any bigger than what we have just done. Granted, I say that, but I never thought we would do something like what was just released but still how large can a college baseball crowd really get? More luxurious, more amenities, sure, but not larger. I don't see y'all tearing down Swayze anytime soon though.
Football:
Yancy says that our expansion is just putting us about where y'all were when you expanded in the SEZ the first time. Yeah, maybe there's some truth to that, but a lot is about aesthetics. We have suits on the sidelines, and now with the bowl and the updates on the outside of the stadium, it just looks better. I think that's what people are more upset about. Not capacity or anything like that, but just perception.
I tried to ask what the reasoning was in going up in the endzone to begin with in y'alls thread but no one really answered that.
As far as Yancy goes:
If I were an Ole Miss fan, I would distance myself as far away from that post as possible. Maybe he makes like 1 maybe 2 mediocre points, but it reeks of obsession, all the while calling us the ones that are obsessed. The poster that called him out was spot on.
He acts like the NEZ expansion at VHS is about to happen. That's several years away at best.
Also, 100 million? I don't remember the figure being announced, but there's no way that basketball arena is 100 mil.
ETA: I shouldn't even have tried to address each part of his post. I wish I could quote it piece by piece and rip it apart but I'm too lazy.
It's a piece of shite post coming from a piece of shite person.

I think it's about adding as much revenue to the stadium as possible as quickly as possible by using infrastructure already in place. It's not the only part of phase 1 though. We will also be doing a lot of aesthetic upgrades before bowling in the NEZ. One thing is for sure, that South end zone is going to look incredible. If only we can sooner rather than later make the NEZ mirror it.
Eta:I agree with you about Yancy. He's a hack

Maybe they didn't answer because they misunderstood me.
I meant what was the reasoning in building that expansion in the SEZ to begin with? Why not go for upper decks on the sidelines where you can make the most money off of your premium seating?
I know that not every stadium is cookie cutter and y'alls definitely has a unique feel to it, so maybe that's part of it.
Posted on 8/13/14 at 9:58 am to DynastyDawg
Upper decks like yalls? I've never seen those mentioned really. That might add too many seats for what we are wanting. Idk I'm no expert at any of this. Most of it is over my head.
Posted on 8/13/14 at 9:59 am to UMRealist
Yeah upper decks. Like before anything was ever in the SEZ.
Why not go up on the sides before putting anything in the Endzone in, what was it, late 80's?
ETA: I guess I am really just sucking arse at what I am trying to ask.

Ohhh I see what you're saying. You mean like before we ever bowled in that SEZ? I have no idea lol.
