his words in a interview yesterday on 24/7

Even then, however, Robinson struggled with injuries. Those injuries plagued him all the way until this season and has kept him from realizing his full potential.
“It’s pretty frustrating for anybody, I figure,” Robinson said of his nagging injuries. “I got hurt in high school but it didn’t take me out. Getting hurt in college is pretty frustrating because you feel like you need to be playing. I want to go out there and do what I can. I knew everything and I just hated standing on the sidelines when I knew I could do it but my body hasn’t let me.”

I'll be 100% pulling for him to come out of no where ala Greg Robinson last year at Auburn, I'm just not sold on the idea that it will happen.

However, if the kid ever lives up to the potential he had coming out of Olive Branch he could fricking wreck shop.

I meant to say "not questioning your post". Thousand pardons. My wording came off as me being a dick. Not intended.

I just don't have a lot of faith in OL Rankings out of high school. I have seen 2 stars do really well and 4 stars bust. I hope Robinson contributes this year and becomes a major player on our OL - I just don't think many OL can be really projected right out of HS.

I completely agree.

With our OL, I think you can pretty much say there is no way to tell right out of HS what they will be, because we don't recruit nor sign the Laramy Tunsil's of the world.

I don't think it only holds true for us. I'm just not a big star gazer, I guess. I feel like if the kid comes in and can perform on the college level, that's what matters. Not the star rankings some writers and analysts assign the kid based on their opinions.

I agree with what you are saying, but at the same time, if you never get any stars in there, you are probably gonna end up with a thin looking line like ours looks pre-season. We'll see how they do. But it's definitely cause for some concern since the rest of the roster looks deep.

I see both sides of it. I do know that the more offers and interest a kid has, the more likely their star ratings will be higher. I just think it's still a roll of a dice with an OL out of high school. You have an idea of how they will perform but we all know just because a guy is 6'8 320 lbs doesn't mean that translates to good feet and talent on the field. In high school, they won the battle because of sheer size over their opponent. In college, it's hours in the weight room and the ability to learn the techniques and apply them.

I have faith in our coaching staff to be able to spot those 'diamonds in the rough', I just wish more of them would pan out so we didn't have such a thin looking OL.

There's some smoke on the boards that Damien Robinson injured his knee ? Any truth to it ?

Hope it isn't true.. Never want to see anyone get hurt this close to the first game.

Yeah, he tore an ACL in the scrimmage the other night. Not officially announced yet since Mullen doesn't meet with media until tomorrow...

He's kinda like the corner y'all lost(not Tee -- the other guy) in that there isn't much front-line effect, but depth took a huge hit from this.

I don't see how we can avoid moving out Malone now. Not unless Rufus Warren/Cole Carter are developing more quickly/better than I realize behind Senior...

We had several other non-year-threatening injuries. Must have been a damn hard-hitting scrimmage...

He's talking about Shelby Christy who tore his ACL last week -- and Gabe Myles who sustained a concussion and hopefully won't be out long.

I hope Myles is not out. Was looking forward to watching Christy this year. Both are Freshmen.

The OL: my understanding is Carter is doing well.

Heard Carter was actually superior to Senior in the spring. Will be interesting to see who wins the RT job. I feel like it will be Senior, but that's admittedly based on pretty limited reports.

I am still really hoping Thomas steps up. I expected big things out of him.
