Golden was the #1 JUCO MLB when he committed to us. I think Beisel is a natural MLB and will be playing a lot there this year. He's not slow, and if Wilson could do it, the Beisel definitely can.

If Beisel is 90% of what Wilson was, I will be thrilled. He wasn't the fastest MLB we've ever had, but he hit like a freight train, punishing offensive players in the middle of the field. He made up for some of his lack of speed with hustle and he was a very good tackler.

I really don't give a shite what you idiots believe, if hitting hard and knowing the game was that important, Wilson would have been a first round pick, instead of a walk on in the NFL.

Beisel is slow because he's slow, it's not his fault he was born that way, and as if it really makes any difference, several of the fastest players on the team are Leftwich, Copelin and Mauk.

It was clear Wilson was a liability in coverage and it burned us more than once. I'm not suggesting slowness isn't a problem for a DE as well but he could still be useful there, more than the little bit of time we will be using a true base 4-3.

Respecting other people's opinions, especially if they differ from yours is a valuable trait in life.

There are vast differences between the college game and the NFL. You can be a great college player and be a marginal NFL player. It happens all the time.

Wilson played because he was our best MLB, and made a ton of tackles (he led the defense in total tackles) and was in on a lot of plays for a supposed "liability."

FWIW, the real guys in the know (our coaches) disagreed with your assessment of Wilson.

True Son. Proud he played at Mizzou.

of course, because they are complete homers about their players, wouldn't expect any less, and would'nt expect you to know your arse from a hole in the ground about the NFL and college differences either, because you don't.

thanks Pinkel's daughter, now that you've chimed in, I'm sure we're all much more enlightened. For some reason the guys in the NFL just don't know as much as Pinkel... right?

Until recruiting gets better we will continue to have depth issues everywhere but QB and WR (and this year is thin compared to normal). The last few years was kind of a fluke having so much talent at DE, me thinks.

I can put it back, just ease up a bit man. We all have different opinions and I realize others are involved too. But if stuff gets to the point that it's going to run people off, yeah, have always deleted posts. Not just now.
