Well, that's good to know, because it would be pretty bizarre for someone to get bent out of shape about high school athletes getting evaluated and compared to other athletes.

Oh, I'm not bent out of shape, but it does make me question their legitimacy as talent evaluators. Next up, the freshman 100.

You didn't come off as pissed off. You came off as rational.

I know you won't, but don't let any of the haters affect Dylan.

Anyone that thinks this is not the best news of the summer for LSU recruiting is suspect. Bring on the radiation.

Congratulations to you and Dylan! LSU is very fortunate have your sons commitment. My 8month old just started training to be the #1 player in the country. We are rolling over and crawling laps around the house. Any tips to make him grow like a man child??

These kids are not nearly done growing. There is no point in having a top 100 already except to say "we have a top 100." Creepy and weird.

wow, 4 from SC, it's going to be a good year in SC recruiting then.

Technically only 3 now. Jake Bentley's dad and former Byrnes/PC Head Coach recently got a job on Malzahn's staff as an "offensive analyst" so they moved to AL. I'd imagine it is safe to say Jake Bentley is an Auburn lock now, unless he doesn't want to play at the same program as his dad or grows to dislike living in AL.

I remember reading somewhere that a coach who visited Auburn for a coaching camp said Bobby had an incredible football mind and iirc Gus brought him in because he's a "QB guru". If that's true, it wouldn't surprise me if he became our QB coach once Rhett leaves. If that were to happen before 2017, Jake to AU would pretty much be a done deal imo as long as Gus wants him.

I don't know anything about this particular situation with the Bentleys, but whether he was a lock or not really depends on the kid. Personally, playing for my dad (especially as my position coach who I'd be in close contact with daily) would be a huge negative as I was evaluating different colleges. I dare say most kids wouldn't really want to be under their father's control throughout college.

Understandable. Everyone thought Kai Locksley was a Maryland lock because of his dad but that didn't happen. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I do think it helps that the family moved to Opelika though. But a lot can happen in the next 30 months.

This is getting ridiculous. He is still a child. The pressure on these kids is terrible.

I agree he is still a child and the pressure is unfair.

But he is a 6'1" 200 lb. child with an outrageous Sparq rating and has dominated every camp he's been to. He also kicked arse on the varsity team as a 9th grader.
