Saying Dupre is a better fit for LSU's system is far from spin.

So, you are expecting a Auburnesque turnaround this season?

No one should EVER expect an Auburnesque turnaround. They made the most of their fortune, but they DID have a lot of bounces go their way.

That said, we didn't go winless in the SEC last year, so we don't have that far to go. (Though they had waaay too much talent to go winless that year, which is why Chizik got fired)

But the reality is there are a lot of questions for the team. And obviously the biggest is what happens at QB. If Manziel were back, I'd pick us to win the SEC. But we've got a true soph battling a true freshman for the reins of an offense that is the most pass happy in the conference. It's just not the same as w/ Bama or LSU breaking in a new QB. Y'all are run-focused anyway. I think we'll run the ball more, but the Air Raid is still the Air Raid.

that's just on this page of the thread, all from different posters. And 2 of those are after I pointed it out. I don't know if there was some kind of meeting or what, but it's pretty clear that the official party line for any WR discussion is to compare any LSU player or recruit to Speedy Noil, someone who has never played a down of collegiate football. I really don't have a problem with y'all using our Freshman WR as the measuring stick for greatness, but it borders on psychosis at this point.

Fair enough, but two comments from tigerdroppings doesn't fairly represent the sentiments of the LSU fan base on speedy going to A&M.

I wish him well and hope he capitalizes on a great, free education at A&M, but for some crazy reason I am confident LSU will survive without a standout slot receiver. I am hungover and didn't make it past the first page, but I just thought it was hilarious like the 3rd comment from an aggie was "Well this doesn't compare to A&M signing Speedy.". they're two completely different prospects that are special in their own right, and there was zero reason to bring speedy into the discussion

Sure it is. You took 4 WR last year. Are you really going to argue that Speedy was your 5th choice at WR?

...and honest question: what is it about Speedy that makes him unsuitable for your system?

Yes they will, and I've seen it done before.

Yall are some dumb MFers, the kid went to A&M for more reasons than one.He knew his skill set would be better showcased at A&M,how hard is that to understand? LSU wanted him of course but he was never going there, period.MD will be utilized more with LSU than Speedy would have ever been, fact.

Why do the two even need to be compared? It's a total non-sequitur in this thread.

If you want to make comparisons, compare a guy like Anderson to Iheanacho, RSJ, or Lodge. Those are all far more comparable players that both schools recruited. But y'all never bring them up in comparisons. Speedy is the bar by which all players, big or small, are measured by LSU fans

The point I am trying to make here is the kid was better off going to A&M because he's talent will be better utilized there than LSU,the same can be said for MD choosing LSU.

If you understand that LSU wanted Speedy, then why are you bringing up MD at all? The fact that you got MD is completely irrelevant to the fact that we took Speedy from you.

That's just completely at odds with everything every one of your recruiting guys were saying up until the point that Speedy announced for A&M. They were still predicting the day of the UA game that he would go with LSU.

And again, bringing up MD is completely irrelevant. Your base offense has two wides. Even if you say that MD would have been your top WR, are you going to say that Quinn would have beaten Speedy, too?

That's what this is all about, the fact that A&M "TOOK" a player from LSU,not that the kid never wanted to come to LSU.You A&M boys are giving the Gumps a run for their money.
