I'm so glad that Matthews is gone.

You must be forgetting about the punt return against Texas as well....

Yeah... It wasn't just this game.. Scott had a career high rushing total in Austin to go along with that huge punt return that basically put the Horns away late in the 3rd quarter... He was never really healthy again after the Auburn and aTm games.
I'm excited about Walton this year... People forget that he scored the most TDs on our team last season.. He will score the third most this season behind Treadwell and Bo... Quon is catching double digit TDs... Book it.

I think you can also include the long run this year against Auburn that kept us in that game. As well as the touchdown against Auburn in 2012 when he rolled over the guy to essentially put that game away and get us our first SEC win in a couple of years.
Last year he had 7.4 ypr. It sucks he got hurt towards the end of the year and now you think he was shite, but if he stays healthy last year he would've ended up with a great season.

One thing I'll say about Jeff is that his shift in attitude once Freeze arrived was incredible. I remember wanting him to fail just bc I disliked him so much.

God damn Matthews embarrassed Dehendret Collins

Any particular game you think he goes off and takes it to another level?

The coaching staff shouldn't have had Collins covering Jordan fricking Mathews in the first place. That was their fault.

There was nobody else at that time. Sawyer was hurt and slowed and Jones hadn't been converted yet iirc

I remember the day Nutt was fired. Jeff was in my Mr. wadell CPR class and he got a text from the athletic department. Said he couldn't believe that shite and said if it was true he was going back to Miami regardless of who was hired. Didn't give a frick any more. Didn't see him in that class again until the final. One thing that has to be said about freeze is he did a heck of a job getting the players to buy in. There were other players that felt like Jeff did. They really cared about Nutt (not really sure if it's because they could do basically whatever they wanted, or if the actually cared), but they would have done anything to get him to stay.

Maybe they should have tried playing a few games like they had played the game of football before.

I couldn't believe he stayed. Jeff didn't give two shits while Nutt was here

Yeah I was gonna say that, I think it had more to do with they had no accountability under Nutt.

I was discussing the upcoming game with vandy with Febrees the other day. Wouldn't surprise me if we stepped on their throats this year and break the theme of close games we've had over the years. They're replacing a good bit of talent and breaking in a new coach.

Man I hope so... I hate to act like it's some kind of statement game but if we win it comfortably maybe it is... Cause we'll come back to Oxford and kick the shite out of ULL and Memphis.
Vandy will be solid on the defensive front... A lot of 4 star guys that will be RS sophomores from that good class Franklin signed back in 2012... They were hit hard at the skill positions and in the defensive secondary... Lost some solid LBs too.

I remember watching Freeze address the team for the first time (not sure why they allowed that to be filmed) and Moncrief was pissed as well.
My take from that Vandy game was how well our TE and slot receiver did in opening up the field for us. So glad to have Engram back.

I hope so too. I want us to destroy Vandy.

IIRC vandy is losing a couple guys off the OL.
