I am amazed that any fans are seriously bragging about a string of titles in track (and women's track). If that what makes you feel proud, go for it. IMO, Florida and LSU have the most complete sports programs in the conference. We are the undisputed best in the sport that concerns us the most. I'd like more success in basketball, and we've had some solid success in baseball but other than that, meh.

How convenient for you.

You may have a point, but for your point to be relevant, you would need to be able to claim that football is not the sport that also concerns you most. Can you say that with a straight face?

Clever observation, but nobody in their right mind would dispute the assertion that football is the most important sport in the SEC.

thanks for bringing it to our attention that football is the most important and beloved sport in the SEC. I've never seen it from that perspective before.

you've made it quite clear that Alabama is the most storied football program in the conference, as if we had no idea. that doesn't mean LSU and Arkansas can't be proud of their titles in mid-majors, just like Alabama packs an arena for gymnastics

Real absence of Alabama fans up in here. If you don't recognize theiir claim of 14 football national championships or whatever the number is these days, they don't like to talk to you.

Well played, Bama. Just ignore it

What's to ignore? A Florida fan was kind enough to address the pre-1932 titles by pointing to the NCAA's own website and another poster pointed out that the SEC didn't exist when those titles were won.

The issue has been appropriately addressed.

I like the graphic, except you should have found a way to put "gators" down the length of Florida. The F floating out there ruins it.

Bama is second to Kentucky in both conference wins and tourney titles and third behind UK and LSU in regular season titles.

We need to do better with the current basketball situation, but historically Bama basketball has been just fine.

LSU and Alabama are both in a rut with basketball in regards to facilities. Both have eye sores for arenas, but they're also renovated fairly recently

Generally when success is experienced in a sport, the following grows and it becomes important. When more failure than success is experienced, there is not as much of a following because nobody likes to lose and only those with hope that things will improve hang on (been a long time Saints fan), but to say the sport isn't as important to someone who is succeeding in it, smacks of bitterness.

For example, I wouldn't tell a Kentucky fan basketball is not as important as baseball or football because LSU has had more success than most in those two sports, but not so much in basketball.

Gymnastics, golf, and softball are also important to some school's fans because those schools are historically successful at them.

If I were bitter, I would resent Kentucky's basketball success, or LSU's baseball success. I think Arkansas in basketball and Mississippi State in baseball are areas that enhance the overall sports program to a significant degree.

Our titles in golf and gymnastics, and to a lesser extent softball, are not accomplishments that make me excited. They are welcomed and good for the university. When it comes to track, women's cross country, bowling, etc, if you want to think I'm bitter, it sort of makes me laugh.

Agreed, but most of us measure out football program on national success. In basketball, we have some solid regional/conference success, but never advanced past the elite 8 (and only made it there once).

Oh wait, aren't you the one that claims Alabama is #2 historically in basketball?

He's almost right, Choctaw. It wasn't an SEC "MNC", and it wasn't the first one.

Other than that, though...

Wow, who knew UGA was so good at Mens Tennis?
I didn't lol. Not a big tennis fan. Kinda a boring sport to watch, seeing two ppl hiting a ball back and forth for hours... No thanks!
To bad our football team can't be that good.
Hell, I would like to just see us win one in my life time. Im not asking for alot here. Just once.
