Yeah something like that. He already had a kid I think too.

Brandon McIlwain, stud QB from PA is announcing his top 6 on Tuesday. We have 75% of the CBs on 247, would be shocked if we weren't #1 or 2 on that list. I forget where I heard it but Mangus has been talking to this kid for a good while building a good relationship and hopefully this kid will join the Gamecock Nation eventually.

With some polishing of his throwing motion, this kid could tear it up down here.

ETA: Upon a second watching of McIlwain's tape, the kid needs to work on his footwork in the pocket as well, he has a bad case of happy feet sometimes. Also I thought he forced a ton of throws. Just my observations.

My top 6 schools in no order #SouthCarolina #PennState #Auburn #VirginiaTech #Duke #Florida #blessed ??????

Hopefully the list is in more order than he's letting on....

Penn State is the biggest competition here, right?

Yeah I believe so. 247 interest levels would indicate PSU and Duke pose the biggest threat.

Yes. Franklin got O'Connor last year, Wimbush this year nand McIlwain is a Pennsylvania guy who is a national recruit. Franklin is going to fight us tooth and nail to keep him instate.

My Son just called me to tell me about this, but I had no idea who this guy was. Thanks for the link CIYE. He's big for a linebacker. We could use more 6-3 235 guys that can run.

I need to see more film on him before I write too much about him. He does have long strides, he's covering about 4 yards per step when he's full go. That lets me know he's got a lot of power in his legs. He had some good hits but he tackles the ball a lot and doesn't wrap up (from the 4 minute highlight I saw where half of it he was playing from fullback.)

He looks very athletic though. I'd like to see some stats and athletic measurements, and of course more highlights. If Botkin offered this guy out of nowhere, he must be doing something great. Botkin has a good eye for talent and we don't usually offer kids this early unless we think they would be takes later on.

I dunno ... lol. That sophomore film of his looked pretty impressive. Kid is a baller. He runs well, looks like a heat seeking missile on defense. He's got the size for a sophomore for sure. Looks like he really digs contact.

Reading what his coach had to say about him (P&C) is impressive.

May not be a better looking prospect in pads in Ga then Kyle Davis of Archer. Kid is a player.@jcshurburtt

This kid is gonna be a stud for us. Hopefully we can keep him in the fold: a ton of national programs are gonna come at him hard over the next 1.5 years....

4* ATH and commit, Kyle Davis, has already been working other prospect to join him in Columbia.

He's working on his '17 teammate, 4* ATH Jamyest Williams, and 5* TE Isaac Nauta as well.

Davis and Williams are planning to be at SC for the SC vs ECU game and then Nauta is planning on coming for the SC vs UGA game.

SC is also in the mix/Top4 for VA 4* standout SDE Kyree Campbell. Campbell wants to come to a game earlier this season, but is still finalizing plans. He's considered a Oh St lean.

It's absolutely awesome to see us in the mix for some of VA's Top 10 prospects, this NEVER used to happen. Va Tech, MD and Penn St used to have that state on lockdown.

4* CB Mecole Hardman is going to visit SC in 2 weeks. tenn is his leader, but he really likes SC

From a PK article:

quote:

"South Carolina is a great school with great academics," he said. "Steve Spurrier is a legendary coach and anyone would love to play for him. I love their coaching staff."

Hardman plays quarterback for his high school but said the Gamecocks are recruiting him at several different positions.

"They like me at wide receiver but told me they would use me wherever they needed me," Hardman said. "They have a great history at defensive back, so that would be a good place to play if I end up playing defense."

4* GA RB, Elijah Holyfield, son of Evander, has interest in SC.

From a PK article:

quote:

Junior RB Elijah Holyfield (5-10 195) of College Park, GA certainly has the bloodlines to be a tough, physical football player. He's the son of former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield. So his athleticism certainly is not in question.

Several schools have already offered but Holyfield wants to remain patient during the recruiting process. He wants to see what happens with USC, Georgia, Alabama and Auburn. Holyfield said that USC has not contacted him recently but he does expect to hear from them soon.

"They told me they were interested in recruiting me," he said. "They told me they would come back by to see me during the season so, we'll see what happens."

Holyfield is interested in the Gamecocks and has eyes in the program.

"One of my teammates is there now," Holyfield said. 'It's pretty cool to see Terry Googer there. He can tell me what it's like from the inside. I went to the Clemson (USC) game with him last year and it was pretty intense."

Georgia has recently begun to show more interest in Holyfield giving him confidence an offer is his in future. He feels the same way about Auburn.

Schools that have offered include Michigan, Ohio State, Virginia, Boston College, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Kentucky, Wake Forest, Louisville, Duke, Wisconsin and Virginia Tech.

An injury sidelined Holyfield last season but he did rush for over 700 yards and eight touchdowns in eight games. In his first game as a junior, he rushed for 157 yards and had seven total scores in the game.

He does not have a favorite

4* OG Terrance Davis has an early interest in SC, he came here in July and wants to come down this season for a game.

quote:

OL Terrance Davis (6-4 305) of Hyattsville, MD wants to play against the best. With that in mind, he lists academics, atmosphere and big-time football as the key factors to making a decision.

"Academics are really important to me," Davis said. "I want to go somewhere that I fit in and just be one of the guys. I don't want to stick out. I also want to play against the best competition. That's important to me."

One conference he named was the SEC. After a visit to USC over the summer, a future visit is likely.

"I'll definitely go back to South Carolina," he said. "I visited in July so I didn't get to talk to the coaches. I thought their campus was beautiful and the facilities are great. That's big-time football."

His offers include USC, Alabama, Florida State, Maryland, Georgia, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Penn State and Tennessee.
