Hey! Why don't we legalize murder. We could tax it and make a TON of money, then the prisons would be empty!
Superb comparison

Are you mentally disabled?
No dumber than arguing to make something legal just so you can tax it. And you are correct...it IS a dumb argument. Thanks for making my point.

I thought I was gonna have a good day until I realized people like you actually exist.

But seriously...is it any dumber than saying if we make weed legal we can tax it and hire more teachers? yet nobody says that is dumb.
No. I was not advocating we make murder legal. (Don't be dumb) Just showing how dumb the "Let's make it legal so we can tax it!" argument is.

Arguing for the legalization of something that is harmless is much different than suggesting to make murder legal.

This coming from the guy who could not understand why people were being arrested for doing illegal things? Niiiice.

True. But marijuana is hardly harmless. That is like saying alcohol is harmless. Anything that impairs a person in any way is not harmless. People will get behind the wheel of cars when impaired. You might feel it should be legalized....fine. that's your perogative. But the fact is, people make poor decisions. they drink and drive and they will smoke weed and drive. When you mix those things problems happen and people die.

If you"d read deeper into my post, you'd understand.
If someone wants to go snort a line of coke in the privacy of their home for recreational reasons, who the frick are you and the government to tell them they can't?
If it doesn't affect anyone outside the individual leave them be.
And people make dumb decisions under other legal substances too (prescription meds/alcohol/ect) so don't even try to stray towards that arguments
The ADVANTAGE of legalizing the various substances is that not only can the government regulate it so you don't have 15 year olds smoking pot laced with fricking meth, or college students snorting coke cut with fricking rat posing. It can also be very heavily taxed. It beefits every party.
Your murder argument was fricking ridiculous because the other person did not consent to the action.

You have obviously never smoked and gotten behind the wheel of a car. I have done both...smoked and drank. I am just lucky I never hurt somebody else. I can assure you I never had a problem keeping the vehicle between the lines, even when I was so high I couldn't stop giggling. It is safer than getting behind the wheel of a car on pain killers. The bottom line.......if our govt. could figure out a way to tax it, pot would be legal today.

Texting and driving is rapidly becoming the most dangerous thing a person can do while driving. Maybe we should make cell phones illegal instead of just making texting while driving illegal. Marijuana is harmless. Actually it comes with specific health benefits.

P.s. Drinking and driving is illegal
Being under the influence of ANY substance is illegal.
As it should be. That directly puts others in a shitty risk. SMD

Doesn't seem like much of a issue to tax it? The political reasons are more complex than figuring out how to tax it.

Which is why they are warned not to take those meds and drive, right?

Because once something is legalized nothing ever happens bad, right? because people always obey the law?
