Sorry, rG, I respect the hell out of Florida, and I enjoyed SS as much as anyone when he was ribbing Tennessee, but his act has gotten old for me. All the bravado and sarcasm doesn't seem so great when you're not backing it up.

Yeah, he should have retroactively claimed a couple titles by now.

Saban, who was in Bristol, talked about the challenge of getting his team to play Oklahoma as to "try to play in a consolation game."

Nick needs to keep his mouth shut and stop with the excuses for not having his team ready to play. Oklahoma played better on that day. All he needed to say, but I guess he is smarting from the 2 game losing streak.

He also needs to kick the freaking FG next time Bama gets to the other teams 13 when he is leading by 7 with 4 mins to play, but I'm pretty sure he knows that already.

It wasn't an excuse. He has talked before about how a major bowl shouldn't be a dissapointment, but in the BCS era anything other than the title game has devalued it. Overcoming that thought process isn't easy. Maybe the playoff will change that.

Bama created a monster when they screwed around and gave those inbreds an excuse to mouth off!

Bama didn't "screw around". They got beat by a better team that was better that night, better the last quarter of the season and quite possibly better the whole season. Bama had a yellow brick road season schedule. Only once did they have a semblance of tough back to back games. Every presumed tough game was sandwiched in between a bye and cupcake. The one time they had consecutive weeks with a tough opponent was Miss. State the week after LSU. A game in which they almost shat the bed against State's 3rd string quarterback. Bama floundered early season, peaked against LSU and then floundered after that.

You can't believe Oklahoma was better all season. They were night and day different. That being said, so was Alabama. We didn't progress at all. We were beat, plain and simple.

Look, I get his point, but it sure sounded like an excuse to me. If a coach cant get his team up for any BCS bowl game other than a NCG, that speaks to the coach. imo

Trying to excuse the a BCS bowl game loss cause it wasn't a title game is more that a little arrogant and BS had every right to call Nick out.

Hopefully the Aggies can get the Sooners out on the football field again.

Sumlin will shut big mouth Stoops up.

I don't think it was necessarily lack of motivation as much as it was execution. We were sloppy in the little things. Very surprising from a team that's usually disciplined.

This team responded nicely from similar circumstances in 2009. We will see if it happens again.

I think Bob is just mad cause of the fact Nick Saban insulted his coaching skills

That's got to be a kick in your coaching nuts when you put all your might into beating a team like Bama and then Nick comes out and is like...

"Oh that was a consolation game." Like some posters have said...it devalues Stoops win and apparently...rustled him so bad he has to poke fun at A&M.

that's a very "glass half empty" way of looking at their season in retrospect but it is defensible

Stoops can say what he wants after mouthing off before the game and then cashing the check. He backed up the talk with results

Stoops should go talk about it on the big 12 network.

41-13 is probably seared into his brain. And A&M has the 4th toughest schedule next year, OU's is 93rd. So no, Stoops has no room to talk about A&M. Bama maybe, but not A&M.

Also felt this was relevant. You gators should find it pretty humorous seeing as it was caused by you at the natty.

OU made history last season by becoming the only team to ever beat the previous national title runner up (Notre Dame) and the defending national champion in the same season (Alabama).

Alabama did beat the previous year's final #1 and #2 in 2009. In consecutive games while they were both ranked #1 and then #2.

Notre Dame shouldn't even count. At least 15 other teams could've destroyed them the past two years. They're awful.

Normally I would think Bob Stoops has an argument, but the final rankings last year had 7 SEC teams in the top 25 and 3 Big 12 teams. Not to mention Kansas, TCU, and WVU were some of the worst teams in the country last year.

Half of the SEC would destroy all but 3 Big 12 teams. He needs a tougher conference, otherwise he's going to have to keep playing tough OOC because his SOS this year is fricking garbage, 92nd I believe.

I am sorry confused here. First he talks about how tough their schedule is and includes playing UT as part of that. Next he talks about how bad the bottom of the SEC is. UT was the part of the bottom half.

This is about one thing: recruiting. A&M leapfrogged not only UTx, but also OU in the pecking order for recruits, based largely on selling the SEC. Other SEC schools are also making more headway into Texas, and that poses an enormous threat to Stoops.

All his complaining about who plays who and he runs out and schedules Houston. LMAO

Guess it's good for recruiting purposes, but BGB could have had his pick of several of the top tier SEC teams. Guess UTenn is about as far as he wants to go up that chain.
