Incorrect. Don't know if they'll pull off any upsets, but they'll give some folks more than they bargained for.

Who? Vandy? Besides them or Tenn, doubt it.

OM is gonna sting one, maybe two of those teams. Just hoping it's not A&M.

If its anyone it'll be y'all or LSU. Alabama and MSU are going to skull frick them IMO. AU could be close because Auburn's defense is awful, but I think AU outscores them. LSU is such a wild card, idk what to think. Fournette and their decent OL might shite on em. So Im gonna go with aTm if they sneak one out. Better hope Kyle Allen is as legit as you are hoping. Otherwise its your sick WRs and solid RBs by themselves with an awful defense.

Ummm, said no one ever. Maybe BigVolDaddy or some delusional butt chugger on here that thinks they'll have the number 1 recruiting

He didn't say anything about a #1 class. He just simply said he likes what Butch is doing. Most everyone I've talked to agrees. I guess you're in the minority

Don't know. I just have a funny feeling about them, tbh

Yeah, I'm dreading that game for a variety of reasons already

We just need him to be solid and not cost us games. The suspect defense is gonna have their hands full in that department just trying to get opposing offenses off the field.

If KA tries to replicate JFF, he'll fall flat on his face, IMO. We don't need JFF 2.0--we just need someone to keep us in games.

Not that I'd mind if he's successful in going nova...

I didn't say HE said anything about recruiting. I am saying that I am describing how delusional some of your fan base is thinking that. Think of it like I used it as an adjective.

And ummm ok. If losing 45-10 is liking what he's doing, then I like it too. Glad we're in agreement.

We will see if that funny feeling is still there in octoberish. Hell probably end of september if Im being realistic. I like UK, don't get me wrong. Bball team is legit. If only Calipari could recruit an OL for them because a bunch of 2 stars and an overweight long snapper aint gonna stop Dante Fowler from putting his foot up their arse.

Well good luck with that. Im sure he will air it out just fine with your receivers being open by 10 yards. I think for once a lot of people will have trouble with Alabama's DL, not just run stop, but pass rush. Robinson, Allen, Hand, and Rashaan Evans should welcome kyle allen to the SEC with a few grass stains.

Like I said, I'm not picking them to upset anyone just yet. I think a few teams are gonna find themselves in closer than comfortable games in 3rd quarters against them, though.

Which is really all even the most optimistic in their fanbase can ask for this season, IMO.

Ole Miss or Miss. State would probably be the surprise pick, but the respective fan bases have propaganda bombed the Rant for the last month or so trying to get attention
. Ummmm, all State posters have done is have to answer to the national media talking about us and the rant shitting all over us. The OM posters are all the ones with the "x will be the best x in the SEC this year" threads.

Haha, ok. If we're delusional in thinking UT is headed in the right direction, then yes, we're delusional. Saban lost to Louisiana - Monroe his first year, but yeah, you're right dude.

Is this the same year that a Saban team beat by ULM beat the mighty 10RC Vols 41-17? Just because Alabama got upset by a shite team on a bad day with shula kids doesn't equate to 2013 Tennessee losing by these scores:

59-14
45-10
31-3
55-23
a loss to Vandy and a loss to Florida, with a squeak out win against South Alabama.

Tad different

Yes, you have proved my point. Yeah, Butch got beat by bama with dooleys players just like Saban lost with shulas players. Butch also upset a top 10 team in South Carolina, but thats insignificant just like everything else because it's in the PAST. We are talking about what Butch is doing moving forward, in the FUTURE. Most people like what he's doing, that's all the LSU fan was saying.

Not the same thing. Alabama has limited scholarships and never got embarrassed by an SEC team that season.

Thats like the only thing you have to build off of. Don't let it go. If I were Jones I would be like lets do this every game. We are capable of it. So it isn't insignificant. Especially building a program. Everything matters.

Most people like what he's doing

ok thats a stretch.

IMO you'll be better than last year, yes. Maybe 2 wins better, but that doesn't mean shite if you can't even compete with your rivals and lose to Vandy. What I am saying is, Butch Jones aint Nick Saban and you'll be coach shopping in 2-3 years.

That's nice but he still lost to Louisiana -Monroe.

I also think the Georgia game was something to build off of and one we prolly should have won.

And no one is saying Butch is Saban. Most just think he has things moving in the right direction. And who knows if we'll be competing in the coming seasons or not, but I think Butch is setting himself up to do just that.

But that's, just like, my opinion man. And it doesn't mean shite just like yours.

The right direction is winning the East and challenging Alabama. If your goals are less than that then so be it. Your board of trustees must be frickin stupid. If you can't at least be top 2 in the east with SCAR ahead of UGA and UF with their under performing teams then you aren't doing enough to attract a winning atmosphere. That all starts with system, then player talent.

Its a hunch but I think my opinion might be closer to realistic. Butch Jones is gone in 3 years. Bookmark it

Yeah, that's all well and good and I hope we are winning the east soon, but this thread is about teams that could surprise people. It's not about whether Butch will win the east or if he'll be the coach in 3 years.

Butch is attracting talent after one of the worst stretches in UT history. Will he get UT back to the top, who knows, but he's moving us in that direction

A lot are saying UF as a surprise pick, I do think their record will be much improved, but not a surprise , they are the Gators. They are only a season removed from a BCS bowl , injuries got them mostly last year. Combined with UGA you could field a team last year that could beat either squad from 2012... Just too many injuries.

I do however think ARKY will be really improved, not win the west , but top 4 maybe. Which considering , ain't bad.

Tennessee is interesting to me , the talent is not there yet, but something about Butch; he knows how to make them believe.

Arkansas will surprise a lot of people who are picking us to go 0-8 again. Bielema could possibly get coach of the year if we go 8-4.

I think UF will. Roper will utilize Driskel how he should have be used all along. Their offense will be drastically improved IMO.
