UGA will push hard to get him here in time for camp in August. If he's smart he won't spend another season in JUCO. He has a much better option

Why did he have to go Juco if he was fully qualified? I am confused.

Would love to have Evans aboard. I can't fathom why he would waste another semester (essentially an entire year for football purposes) at JUCO when he could come to UGA right away. Our thinnest position on the roster. His GF lives in Atlanta. It's almost too perfect, so something will inevitably fack it up.

I think he must have been a late bloomer or something. He has no highschool 247 page. It looks like he played a bunch of different positions on offense, and started playing defense his senior year.

There are a lot of reasons for kids to go to a JUCO, not just academic ineligibility.

Our coaches have know he could come in this season but Evans picked A&M cause the coaches were cool with him staying and playing a year at MGCC. He apparently has a good relationship with a coach there, and our coaches didn't want to burn that bridge.

UGA trying to get him on campus, will only cause him to possibly leave for a&am early.

Not UGA. Dawgs aren't in the picture with him anymore. Just because he was in town and went to check things out, doesn't mean he's not an Aggie anymore.

Good try tho. Apparently y'all got him to call coach Price up and talk about getting here before fall camp. Think our coaches realized it, and talked to their coaches and everyone got on the same page.

It's all good. He'll be here in December now!

Is it possible he took a class this summer that made him eligible?

Since you're going to be writing a lot, I'd like to offer you a slot in an intro to sports and recruiting writing and research class that I teach out of my garage. The cost is $80 per class and I have taught successful sports figures such as Taylor Hamm and Doug Gottlieb (I even let him pay with a credit card).

Spots are going fast so reserve yours while availability is still an option!

Next week we are going to go through basic contractions and I will also have a one hour course on bathroom-recruiting etiquette with one of my former students as a surprise guest lecturer.

UGA burned some bridges with that community college by making that move, and that CC usually has a handful of players that go to SEC schools each year.

Georgia must be even more desperate than we are at DB

Why are you still online, bro? What college hires a 16 year old? Why don't you just leave recruits alone?

These are questions we need answers to.

They can only be so pissed about this. We could stop placing non-qualifiers there. It wouldn't be particularly smart for a JUCO to pick a fight with a big SEC school. They're the ones trying to trap a kid at a Mississippi JUCO after all.

If that bridge is burned, who gives a shite? It's one out of many good JUCOs.

Well, perhaps it means less to UGA since the proximity of the schools is not as far, but for TAMU it's a great pipeline that we don't want to cut off.

Either way I really doubt Richt has a "who gives a shite" attitude about recruiting pipelines no matter how small.

No, but if we can get a good player now, UGA will most likely be willing to deal with a JUCO coach's hurt feelings, especially since we've only signed two players from there in recent memory (one of those was a sign and place, UGA gift-wrapped them a 4* DT) and aren't recruiting any others currently. A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush.

Not to mention UGA never made any sort of deal with his JUCO coaches like A&M seems to have done. It's not like UGA's going back on its word.

Exactly. JUCO coaches hold absolutely no cards. If they want kids placed in their program so they can be successful, then they shut up and do what they're told.

Aside from that, what makes anybody think we burned bridges? This kid's transcript showing his immediate eligibility didn't just randomly appear to our coaches from thin air. Apparently somebody at the school was aiding us when we inquired about him. I would assume that would be the coach, no?

I'd be careful pissing off a top tier JUCO program for one S. Looks like lots of talent coming out of there including some to UGA previously.

We placed Mayes there. If the JUCO coach has a problem with it, then we won't be placing players there. Period. Not to mention, Richt actually has a clause in his contract limiting the # of JUCO recruits he can take.

We don't normally go the JUCO route so no worries.
