FYI, I think he's a great coach and recruiter.

Yeah, I had to use the phrase recruiting base, but I didn't know how to phrase the sentence to include Miami.

Could you guys imagine if Gus and Saban had the exact same talent to coach and then play a game against each other?
I would expect Gus's team to win by 2-3 TDs.
Spurrier vs Saban in the same scenario would be the same result. 2-3 TD win by OBC.

Saban has stated himself that he wasn't the best coach so he needed the best players.

You think Pat Dye was the GOAT and Saban has coached longer and is far more accomplished.

Being a head coach is so much more than playcalling (which is why so many great playcallers fail as HC's and stay coordinators.)

He pays Saban the ultimate compliment: He copies him.
“We talk on a pretty regular basis,” says Belichick. “If I ask Nick a question and he says, ‘Well, this is how we do it,’ then I usually just cut to where he is and take that shortcut and say, ‘Okay, we’re going to do it this way.’ I know that he’s already gone through all the stages of thinking it through, and I would rather just get to the stage that he’s at rather than waste the time figuring that I’m going to end up at that same point anyway.”

One coaching mistake had cost Nick Saban a good amount of games. Iron Bowl 2013. LSU 2011 Marquis Maze. 2012 pass intercepted by Everett at the goal line vs. TAMU.
Just stupid shite like that. And every time we could've won those games.

Now, when it comes to special teams, he has trouble. I don't know why. Maybe their practices don't emphasize it enough. Maybe he has trouble finding the right coach. Maybe he has trouble recruiting special teams.

Using this phrase is a pet peeve of mine, ESPECIALLY after the suffering through the Hallman years and Bama suffering with Mike Shula.

Are you implying Alabama should never lose a game? You made it sound like every time bama plays a team with talent similar to theirs then they lose, when that's simply not the case.

That Alabama team was less talented than most of those teams they lost to.
